Kidnapping, torture, extortion, hate crime, etc... all need to be thrown at those 18 year old adults. Maximum penalties.

Anything less is ridiculous.

[–]LittleMarco 5261 points5262 points  (20 children)

"Investigators believe he was target because of his special needs, not his race." -ABC "News"

"With the passage of the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr., Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009, the Bureau became authorized to investigate these crimes without this prohibition. This landmark legislation also expanded the role of the FBI to allow for the investigation of hate crimes committed against those based on biases of actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or gender." -FBI.gov

TL;DR Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 protects disabled Americans from targeted violence.

Soooo when does the FBI step in?

[–]puppetangel 2032 points2033 points  (0 children)

Doesn't that make it a hate crime? Targeting him because of his disabilities?

[–]borkus 957 points958 points  (0 children)

Soooo when does the FBI step in?

Given that's it's less than 24 hours into the investigation, the FBI may be waiting to see what evidence the Chicago PD and DA come up with. IANAL, but Federal hate crime charges may be the lesser charges than they'd face at the state level.

It seems like a DA could easily charge them with aggravated kidnapping - a conviction with a 6-30 year sentence plus 5-15 more added for further aggravating factors. To go from simple kidnapping to aggravated, the crime needs to include bodily harm, be against someone with a severe mental disability or include the commission of other felonies. They're probably 3/3 on that list. A hate crime charge could be added to increase the aggravating factors. Their disregard for human life in the video is definitely going to be a factor. It'd be hard to top a Class X felony that can get 6-55 years.

Since the kidnappers probably didn't cross state lines with their victim, a federal civil rights/hate crime charge may not be as severe.

IMHO, whatever conviction puts them in prison for the longest time works for me.

[–][deleted] 2291 points2292 points  (0 children)

Lol it was a hate crime by two different definitions and they won't call it that.

[–]dontKair 1000 points1001 points  (7 children)

It'll be interesting to see if Trump's Justice Departments steps in for this

[–]WolfofAnarchy 1599 points1600 points  (3 children)

God I hope so, because this police job was absolutely horrible. They kept streaming for over an hour without the police breaking their fucking doors down, and then they claim it's not a race issue. Good god.

[–]BransonBombshell 893 points894 points  (0 children)

How the fuck does this go on for an hour with no one calling the cops??!! What kind of monsters live in Chicago and watched this without intervening?

I think this indicates a bigger problem than 4 "youths" acting out in "childish stupidity" against a defenseless "classmate."

[–]SixSixSixLBS 2377 points2378 points  (32 children)

Fuck white people

A frequently repeated quote from the video of someone's kidnapping and torture. Take it as you will.

[–]Isles420 2301 points2302 points  (11 children)

This is a joke right?

[–][deleted] 1428 points1429 points  (0 children)

The chicago PD? Absolutely.

[–]Cardboard_Knight 1077 points1078 points  (6 children)

If you mean the political state of our country, yeah.

[–]gnrl3 1528 points1529 points  (5 children)

This is the most sickening latest insult to our intelligence. The fucking hubris!

[–]greenstake 556 points557 points  (3 children)

Here's a crime in Calgary with a similar result:

A Calgary indigenous woman who knocked out a Caucasian woman’s tooth while yelling “I hate white people,” didn’t commit a racially motivated crime, a judge says.

“The offender said, ‘I hate white people’ and threw a punch,” Van Harten said in his ruling.

“There is no evidence either way about what the offender meant or whether . . . she holds or promotes an ideology which would explain why this assault was aimed at this victim,” he said.

“I am not satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that this offence was, even in part, motivated by racial bias.”

[–]koldkalamity 1568 points1569 points  (0 children)

Disgraceful. I'm black and I'm not afraid to call this racist. People like them are a huge embarrassment to the black community as a whole. What the fuck is wrong with this politically correct bullshit? Being too relaxed on criminals damages inner cities. Those criminals all deserve 30 plus without any chance of seeing life back outside again before then and dying a shitty death serving their fucking sentence. But those law enforcers should have their badges taken away and replaced with people who aren't afraid to call it what it is and actually police.

[–]nduece 1211 points1212 points  (34 children)

Holy fucking shit. As a black man I really don't know what to fucking think. These motherfuckers are completely out of their minds.....

[–]Bigborris 336 points337 points  (0 children)

As a white person I agree! Hey, look at that, white people and black people getting along. Who would have ever thought. But seriously, this shot is fucked up and there is literally no defense for acting this way. Childish my ass.

[–]KrabFace 1911 points1912 points  (8 children)

It would be a hate crime if it was the other way round.

No doubt about it.

[–]j_sholmes 1425 points1426 points  (3 children)

Chicago would also be in flames from the rioting.

[–]WarLordM123 2178 points2179 points  (0 children)

White people should riot after they get out of work at 5:00

[–]GeneralMalaiseRB 2659 points2660 points  (46 children)

Aaaaand they're already laying the groundwork to avoid hate crime charges. Bullshit politics. What good can possibly come of pushing the racial aspect of this under a rug? I hate to think this way, but I can't help but imagine the city leaders in a room saying, "Look, if we piss off white people, we all know that riots won't destroy the city and freeways won't be terrorized with protesters." So ya go with "no riots in the streets" every time. Or is it simply that nobody wants "insensitive towards the plight of black people" associated with their name? Anyhow, this was a fucking hate crime. Fuck these people for trying to trivialize the seriousness of it.

[–]xXI_KiLLJoY_IXx 503 points504 points  (3 children)

As many others have said: Switch the races, have a black person gagged on a chair and watch as white people torture him.

There would be fucking widespread riots if the white torturers got nothing less than 10 years in prison, and here we are, with black people doing it, and they're just brushing it off as kiddie antics.

If they are threatened with destructive protests from black people every time they need to prosecute one for a crime, Then that's not a police force that is carrying out justice, that's a police force with a gun to their head.

[–]GeneralMalaiseRB 177 points178 points  (0 children)

The eggshell walking and double-standard is just so ridiculous and counterproductive. Shit, a court of law proved that a Hispanic man was justified in shooting a black 17 year old in self defense, and there were still borderline-riots in the streets, billed as "white man executes unarmed black child".

Do you want more racism? Because this is how you get more racism.

[–][deleted] 578 points579 points  (13 children)

Will it be ironic if a white person tracks down, kidnaps and tortures them, and the white person gets charged with a hate crime?

[–]god_im_bored 935 points936 points  (3 children)

trivialize the seriousness

That is exactly what is happening. They're trying to prevent people from putting two and two together to see what led to this. I personally hated Trump, but the campaign of lies directed against his supporters (by calling them out as Nazis at every turn) is what led to this mess. You can clearly see the media try to avoid this reality with every amount of strength they have left.

[–][deleted] 37 points38 points  (3 children)

Its pretty strange, really. What possible motivation could there be not to go with the hate crime? Do they think African-Americans will riot because they call it a hate crime?

Because if so, that's actually racist.

[–]F_Dingo 180 points181 points  (0 children)

This is a clear cut hate crime, Chicago police just refuse to acknowledge what it really is.

[–]mattreyu 5195 points5196 points  (37 children)

So if saying "Fuck white people. Fuck Donald Trump." while assaulting a white person isn't racially motivated, what the hell is?

[–]greenstake 1763 points1764 points  (7 children)

Here's a crime in Calgary with a similar result:

A Calgary indigenous woman who knocked out a Caucasian woman’s tooth while yelling “I hate white people,” didn’t commit a racially motivated crime, a judge says.

“The offender said, ‘I hate white people’ and threw a punch,” Van Harten said in his ruling.

“I am not satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt that this offence was, even in part, motivated by racial bias.”

[–]mattreyu 843 points844 points  (2 children)

“The offender said, ‘I hate indigenous people’ and threw a punch,” Van Harten said in his ruling.

so would this likewise not be racist?

[–][deleted] 354 points355 points  (1 child)

In Canada, it's apparently not racist.

[–]SolSearcher 727 points728 points  (3 children)

The playful tomfoolery and hijinx that all kids get up to.

[–]T0m3y 756 points757 points  (14 children)

Calling people the n-word.

Quick edit: I'm not defending that asshole's actions, just found a case where words alone justified charges of a hate crime.

[–]buddhasupe 825 points826 points  (7 children)

Wow. How is saying that more hateful than literal torture.

Edit: I seemed to have triggered some people. I'm sorry I feel as though being bound and tortured is worse than being called a discriminatory word.

That being said though, neither is acceptable.

[–]karmacum 390 points391 points  (0 children)

This is where she went wrong. She should have kidnapped and tortured them while yelling "Fuck black people! Fuck Obama!"

[–]_Damn_Russians_ 4139 points4140 points  (121 children)

Did they watch the same video we did?

Because this was a textbook hate crime, clearly motivated by race.

Is Rahm gonna give them all head and an award for their actions?

[–]NNTPgrip 2187 points2188 points  (59 children)

This is the gauge of how successful the narrative really is and how brainwashed people are when they can watch 30 minutes of a torture video where they are literally yelling "Fuck white people" over and over and have the fucking balls to say it was not motivated by race and not a hate crime.

If anything would make more people reject the narrative it's crystal clear bullshit like this.

[–]GetHisWallet 1325 points1326 points  (8 children)

On the additional videos where they make him drink toilet water and such, they also force him to say he loves black people. It's racial all the way down.

[–]MasterAssFace 580 points581 points  (4 children)

Everything this chief says blows my mind. Imagine the roles reversed, there would be nobody even trying to imply that it wasn't a hate crime.

[–]HitlerHistorian 323 points324 points  (2 children)

The 1992 LA riots would be a picnic compared to what would be going down now

[–]fieds69 381 points382 points  (6 children)

If he was targeted because of his special needs than it's still a hate crime under 18 U.S. Code sec. 249.(a).(2)

"attempts to cause bodily injury to any person, because of the actual or perceived religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of any person"

Source: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/249

[–]Whiggly 469 points470 points  (29 children)

"Brainwashed" is a word that gets thrown around a bit to much lately, especially in politically charged discussions. "Anyone with different opinions than me is brainwashed!" But goddamn, I can't think of another word to describe this.

"Orwellian" maybe. This is some straight up "we have always been at war with Eastasia" shit.

I can't help but think this might be one of those ur-moments in our civilization. I've known for a long time that the media are a bunch of lying fucks, but they're usually much more subtle and nuanced when spreading bullshit. This is a blatant attempt to tell people to ignore what their own eyes saw and what their own ears heard, and believe what they're told to believe. And I'm terrified its going to work.

[–]XanLV 101 points102 points  (10 children)

I've never seen anything more Orwellian than what they did to Assange. How he turned from a good guy to an evil rapist Russian agent in a day... Honestly, It took them about two days to completely change their "Assange pictures" folder from the glorious hero pictures to messy and tired pictures.

[–]Whiggly 64 points65 points  (1 child)

That's bullshit too, but that's more the "subtle and nuanced" bullshit I alluded to. Its shady, sneaky bullshit. Its a total reversal of how they portray Assange, but that's all it really is, just a change in how they portrayed him.

Its not this naked attempt to tell people to disregard crystal clear video and audio evidence and believe something else instead.

I could understand a rational person thinking Assange is a rapist/pedophile/generally bad person based on the media's portrayal. They'd be believing a lie of course, but you can't really fault people for believing a well crafted, convincing lie. This is totally different. This is people believing an obvious baldfaced lie, that a half-hour video of a man being tortured while people of a different race shout racial slurs at him has nothing to do with race and isn't a hate crime. I can't understand or respect that. That isn't something a rational person is capable of swallowing. That is genuinely something that would require brainwashing to swallow.

[–]startingover_90 89 points90 points  (0 children)

Remember the white guy that got pulled from his car and beaten by a mob of black people yelling "he voted for Trump, get him!" and "fuck white people!"? Remember how we magically didn't know the motivations there either and how it was barely reported on outside of fox news and fringe websites like Breitbart? This isn't the first time this shit has happened in the last two months, why should we be surprised by it? I mean, snopes even had the gall to say he wasn't beaten because he was a white guy or because he voted for Trump. Like lol, okay.

(the only source I could find that was still up)

[–]god_im_bored 359 points360 points  (21 children)

"Fuck white people"

Now, let's break down and analyze this statement to see what confused the authorities. "Fuck" indicates a desire for some entity to get screwed. "White" refers to a color. "People" provides context and indicates that the perpetrators are referring to skin color. So, they want white skinned people to get screwed.

Nope, I don't see the confusion, but I'm not the police so what would I know.

[–][deleted] 6737 points6738 points  (178 children)

This is really going to help the situation. What a joke of a police force.

[–]gawkertehworst 1862 points1863 points  (22 children)

The fix is in. What a fucking sewer of shit politics

[–][deleted] 864 points865 points  (18 children)

I wish I could say I didn't see this comming. Yesterday there were so many people saying this will obviously be charged as a hate crime and everyone saying otherwise was just being racist.

[–][deleted] 333 points334 points  (3 children)

I was one of those people (granted I wasn't calling people racist, just overreacting and presumptive). It's soooo obvious I thought no way it'll slide but here we are.

[–]iamthehackeranon 539 points540 points  (0 children)

It's not even torture because torture = power + harm. So even though he was harmed, he couldn't have been tortured, because he was born in a position of power. </s>

[–]Glitch198 1689 points1690 points  (33 children)

Does this mean white people can riot and destroy cities because of racial injustice by our police force?

[–][deleted] 3246 points3247 points  (11 children)

If you take time off work, then yes

[–]EnterPlayerTwo 510 points511 points  (5 children)

I've got a half day left for this year I can use.

[–]passwordsarehard_3 560 points561 points  (0 children)

Mine just re upped. I can race riot for 10 business days, 16 days if I get it approved in time and we're allowed to riot on the weekends. I don't know all the race riot rules.

[–][deleted] 109 points110 points  (0 children)

So why did they kidnap him? Out of boredom?

[–]datworkaccountdo 6937 points6938 points  (103 children)

Bullshit. This was racially motivated. Im black and I can see it clear as day.

[–]gex80 3766 points3767 points  (18 children)

Black guy checking in. I fucking agree. That shit was a hate crime. The moment you bring someone's race into it or it appears race was a factor some how, it's a hate crime. Let's not get on the fact that he was disabled. That a whole other can of fucked up.

[–]datworkaccountdo 1135 points1136 points  (9 children)

Let's not get on the fact that he was disabled. That a whole other can of fucked up.

I know right? Like how fucking mental do you have to be? That's some evil ish there man.

[–]iampattym 131 points132 points  (1 child)

Also crimes against somebody because of there disability is also a hate crime (~2% of all hate crimes in 2015). Surely that must be taken into consideration when deciding whether or not this crime was motivated by a bias.

[–]Kurtarian 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I normally hate saying things without facts to back me up but I feel like the 2% reported is far lower than the actual percentage, sadly.

I mean, someone who is mentally impaired is more likely to not report a crime or give all the details needed to determine that it was, in fact, a hate crime.

[–][deleted] 1056 points1057 points  (1 child)

Don Lemon disagrees with your assessment that this is evil.

It's just 'bad home training'.

CNN everyone.

If you continue to watch this clip Lemon also goes on to reveal that his view towards this is that 'if they don't understand the ramifications of torturing someone then they can't understand a political election' in a way to dismiss that this was possibly politicaly motivated too. So he's basically saying if someone's stupid enough to commit a serious crime then they're too stupid to consider race/politics in terms of their target. This line of thought suggests hate crimes are basically impossible in his world.

I get that he's just one talking head but it's a reason why people hate the MSM and especially CNN. Such garbage on there. Either he's intentionally stirring shit with that view (bullshit people are sick of) or he actually believes it (he's insane).

I can't believe the dumbing down of this incident.

[–]Physgun 302 points303 points  (0 children)

wow this is a shitshow.

[–]collinch 1355 points1356 points  (53 children)

Agreed. I'm very far left, and I don't know how anyone can think race was not the motive (or at least a motive). It's truly baffling.

[–]KarmaAndLies 290 points291 points  (0 children)

Also a liberal/leftie here too...

This is a hate crime on two counts:

  • Race (per their own words).
  • Disability (targeting due to it).

If you switched the races around I'd still want this prosecuted as a double hate crime. Plus kidnapping and torture is fucked up no matter what.

Why even have hate crime laws if they don't work when someone is specifically targeted due to a protected class (be it race or disability)? This seems completely textbook for why we have them and what they should prosecute with more severity.

[–]god_im_bored 462 points463 points  (3 children)

They're trying to switch the conversation to one about abused mentally ill people. While I understand that there's a definite need to highlight this issue as well, clearly the aim here is to trivialize the racial and political context of this incident.

[–]datworkaccountdo 272 points273 points  (1 child)

Yea and that should not happen. The police needs to call a spade a spade.

These ignorant ass, racists teens kidnapped this poor disabled kid and tortured him.

[–]ttrain2016 383 points384 points  (1 child)

As a conservative, it feels good when both sides agree on an issue and fight for it.

[–][deleted] 628 points629 points  (19 children)

I'm super liberal too and this is a sad and infuriating day for race relations

[–]ABCosmos 782 points783 points  (8 children)

Yep, this type of shit will allow Trump to win a second term.. This will be paraded around as an example of how liberals want to enforce law in this country, this is why people hate liberals.. And can we blame them for thinking that.. if we allow this?

[–][deleted] 497 points498 points  (2 children)

Liberal signing in here, too. Glad to see other liberals recognizing this for what it is: a clearly racist and politically motivated hate crime.

And yes, the attitude of other people on the left who want to cover this up and pretend it was just "boys being boys" and there was no racist/political motive is the same attitude that will get Trump re-elected in 4 years.

[–]collinch 80 points81 points  (1 child)

And can we blame them for thinking that.. if we allow this?

Nope, I can't blame them at all. If I was a conservative, I would absolutely be pointing to this as a huge failing of the left.

[–]psychgirl88 536 points537 points  (5 children)

Black person here too. Yep. This was a hate crime.

[–]monkeiboi 241 points242 points  (0 children)

They may have PICKED this white guy because he was mentally disabled, but they DID THIS TO HIM BECAUSE HE WAS WHITE, AND THEY WANTED TO HURT A WHITE PERSON.

Everybody here fucking knows they wouldn't have done this to some crazy homeless black guy, which is a guarantee they had easier access to.

[–]SupaFly-TNT 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This is why it's so dangerous for people to take their only reactions from the media. I'd bet most black people would agree it's a hate crime.

The huge problem in america today is people don't get reactions from actual people but simply look to CNN or Fox news to tell them. Many people don't even know someone of the other race outside of work or shopping and I think thats a huge problem.

We look at society through the media instead of looking within.

[–]SyFyWrestler 467 points468 points  (4 children)

Then there has never been a hate crime in the history of the world.

[–][deleted] 9458 points9459 points  (295 children)

Ok then, since they said "fuck white people" while torturing a white male (after kidnapping him) explain to me how this isn't a hate crime/race related. It's an honest question.

Edit: new thread is up, they have been charged with a hate crime.

[–]fieds69 1366 points1367 points  (51 children)

Posted this elsewhere on this thread but

If he was targeted because of his special needs than it's still a hate crime under 18 U.S. Code sec. 249.(a).(2) "attempts to cause bodily injury to any person, because of the actual or perceived religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability of any person" Source: https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/249

[–]Gubba162 4329 points4330 points  (78 children)

The police are saying 'they didn't really mean what they said'. Like how the f**k can anyone but the perpetrator know that??!!

[–]rodneyabcd 8756 points8757 points  (25 children)

Look, we've all said things we didn't mean while torturing a mentally retarded person in the back of a van whilst live streaming the whole ordeal to facebook.

Haven't you ever said something you've regretted while kidnapping someone?

[–]Trox92 2016 points2017 points  (22 children)

Just imagine if it was 4 white people torturing a disabled black kid shouting "fuck black people".

The outrage would be out of this world

[–]Poor_cReddit 834 points835 points  (3 children)

Absolutely. This is such shit. Technically we should be pissed at the DA's office because they are the one's who made the decision.

[–]max8394 605 points606 points  (2 children)

if the guy was black, gay, transgender, in a wheelchair, or jewish - this would be a hate crime with tons of hollywood outrage. but no it's just a run of the mill white guy who is just disabled, so we should pity him but giving him justice is just too much to ask for

[–][deleted] 186 points187 points  (0 children)

There would be a Broadway show about it

[–]centech 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Jesus.. I actually have to agree with Trump for the first time ever. The Chicago police clearly can't handle this.

[–]TinyWightSpider 620 points621 points  (0 children)

Geez you guys, a swastika made out of poop is a hate crime. An unverifiable racial slur shouted from a passing car is a hate crime. Torturing a white guy while screaming "fuck white people" is just being childish. Don't you know anything?

[–]basedloud 296 points297 points  (0 children)

I'm black and this is fucking sad. This is definitely a fucking hate crime. From the looks of this, the justice system will fail us again.

[–]baulzaq 138 points139 points  (1 child)

Fucking bullshit. If 4 white people kidnapped and tortured a black man and it wasn't being treated as a hate crime, there would be god damn riots.

[–]FearMarbhAgSiul 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Guglielmi says the suspects made "terrible racist statements" during the attack, but that investigators believe the victim was targeted because he has special needs, not because of his race.

Seriously thought I was reading an Onion article for a sec, then it hit me that these assclowns are dead fucking serious.

[–]rogurt 594 points595 points  (8 children)

Nonwhites agree: that shit it straight up racist.

[–]MasterAssFace 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Who would've thought that the one thing that would bring all us races together to agree on something, would be racists.

[–]ThreeSheetsDutong 169 points170 points  (0 children)

To quote Mr. Garrison: alright, now let's get the answer from somebody who isn't a complete dumbass.

[–]EsotericAlt 45 points46 points  (0 children)

If it were a group of whites kidnapping a black and saying "Fuck Darkies!" you better believe it would be a hate crime.

[–][deleted] 1060 points1061 points  (27 children)

Called this yesterday.

Guess it's true. You really can't be racist against white people.

[–]Cosine_X 372 points373 points  (21 children)

You can't oppress the oppressors! Oh no! See, those four kidnappers were so oppressed by that nasty evil white man!

[–]qp0n 195 points196 points  (2 children)

Saying 'he was not targeted because he was white, he was targeted because he had special needs' .... is like saying the 9/11 terrorists weren't politically/religiously motivated they just hated tall buildings and buildings with 5 sides.

[–]Mugatu725 258 points259 points  (9 children)

I mean, yeah it makes sense that they would go after him thinking he was an easy target because of his disability, but how can you possibly expect people to believe that his race was not a factor?

[–]gawkertehworst 141 points142 points  (5 children)

"Hey look, a retarded white boy." How the police came to this conclusion (and by that I mean the politicians who are in charge) shows just how out of touch they are. Imagine he role reversal right now. Chicago would be on fire.

[–][deleted] 152 points153 points  (1 child)

From another user (said dont have to link name)

These are gang members that are really popular on youtube. The guys street name is PBG Hothead. PBG stands for Pooh Bear Gang. They're a small set of Gangster Disciples that are popular on the internet for their rap music, and they're well known in the streets for all the murders they've committed. They will kill you and then write a song about how they killed you. And if someone gets to you first they will write a song making fun of you to provoke your gang. They're cold blooded as fuck.

Here's a montage of songs where PBG member Young Pappy raps about how he killed a rival gang member that killed his friend Pooh Bear. (The guy the gang as named after)

Part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0scJvSHYRw

Part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LyD5plMiLU

Here's PBG Kemo and Bang Da Hitta making fun of dead rival gang members

Here's Young Pappy making fun of The 4 Corner Hustlers for failing to kill him twice. He was murdered 1 week after this song was released.

The other rapper in the song was arrested in July 2015 for walking up to a rival gang member and murdering him infront of his wife and 3 kids.

I can go on and on with the headlines this gang makes. Remember the gang member that was killed on Thanksgiving day, just minutes after writing Facebook post about how much he misses and wants to be with his dead friends? That was PBG Mosey. Here he is in a music video with Bang Da Hitta.

The guy at 0:04 is TaySav, Young Pappys little brother.

The guy in the camo bucket hat at 0:27 is Lil Shawn. He's the one thats awaiting trial for murdering a man in front of his wife and 3 kids. Supposedly he got caught because he had the balls to do it with his ankle bracelet on. The guy towards the right at 0:15 is Lucci, otherwise known as Lucci Wit Da .40. (I wonder how he got that name?) He is in many PBG music videos holding a Gen 2 Glock 23 or a Gen 1 .40 Sigma.

You can see Lucci multiple times in this video with his Glock 23 and a 32 round magazine.

You can see him multiple times in this video with his Glock and Sigma. He's the one in a red shirt and black hoodie. PBG Kemo even says "Ill call Lucci Wit Da .40" while he shows his gun to the camera.

And you can see Lucci multiple times in this video with his Glock 23 again. He's the one in the camo hoodie at 1:16. BTW the guy rapping is Young Pappys little brother again.

What splendid individuals.

Lock these monsters up for life

[–]IUsedToBeGoodAtThis 252 points253 points  (0 children)

The goddamn mental gymnastics required to absolve these fuckers of of racially motivated crime status is Olympic level.

But every fucking person in the world knew it as soon as it was clear the criminals were not white and the victim was white. SOMEHOW they would figure out a way it wasn't a racially motivated crime, despite there being VIDEO EVIDENCE.

The DA should be investigated.

[–]Workacct1484 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Bull. Shit.

This is a textbook example of racism / hate crime.

[–]gawkertehworst 1201 points1202 points  (172 children)

Just fuck my country right up fam

[–]dopkick 16.9k points16.9k points x3 (616 children)

The Chicago police superintendent who called this attack "childish stupidity" needs to go. We're all guilty of childish stupidity. Childish stupidity is making a mess in the kitchen and blaming it on the cat. Torturing someone and livestreaming it on the internet is not childish stupidity. His attitude towards this makes it abundantly clear that he should not be in any kind of leadership role within the police department of a city facing a massive crime wave.

[–]housebuye 607 points608 points  (31 children)

My version of childish stupidity was stealing a shot worth of scotch my dad got from work as a gift.

[–]Argos_the_Dog 290 points291 points  (24 children)

Give yourself some credit for having good enough taste to go for the Scotch. When pulling a similar stunt in my youth I drank half a bottle of Amaretto and puked in the garage.

[–]DaksTheDaddyNow 315 points316 points  (16 children)

My mom filled her decanter with mouth wash and the mouth wash bottle with liquor for a cruise. I'm sure you can guess what happened after they left town. Fuck that was a nasty coke and mouth wash I had. I finished it and my sister saw me going for more and just lost it.

[–]grim_melee 104 points105 points  (0 children)

This is great on several levels.

[–]Ohminty 443 points444 points  (22 children)

Zero accountability from the top down. And people wonder how Chicago got to where it is today.

[–]i_get_fat_shamed 206 points207 points  (5 children)

So who do I need to contact to start putting pressure on this idiot?? I live in the Chicago subs

[–][deleted] 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Office of the Mayor, Board of Alderman.

[–]Cardboard_Knight 1171 points1172 points  (77 children)

Who the hell is he trying to please by taking this stand? Because the only people who will be happy to hear this are the racist gangbangers in this city.

[–]mafck 645 points646 points  (55 children)

It was just a prank, bro.

[–][deleted] 513 points514 points  (75 children)

He is a political stooge. He was more than likely pushed to make these "assumptions".

[–]dopkick 399 points400 points  (65 children)

Entirely possible, but at the end of the day he controls what comes out of his mouth. He had the power to say "awww hell no" to any such encouraging. You know, to be a leader and set his foot down.

Instead he chose the... politically correct line? I'm at a loss for words to describe this kind of cognitive dissonance, it's not even politically correct as that would be a statement saying "we are looking into this matter and have no further comment until we've had ample time to review all the evidence and interview the suspects." This is more like he's pushing an agenda.

[–]twominitsturkish 531 points532 points  (25 children)

It's most definitely an agenda. Look at the Democratic strategist who said it wasn't a hate crime. Edit: Her name is Symone Sanders (I assume no relation), and she was Bernie's campaign spokesperson. She actually said that because of slavery it's not the same thing, and had previously said "We don't need white people leading the Democratic party right now," What a tool.

Honestly I lean left, I have mostly respect for Obama and I really like Bernie, but if these are the people who are leading the Democratic Party then fuck 'em. Racial issues dominated and IMO really tainted the last two years of Obama's presidency, and it wasn't only the justified responses to police shootings. There were a lot of violent, racially inflammatory rhetoric and actions associated with BLM, Ferguson, Baltimore, etc. and it really turned a lot of people off the Democrats. Maybe we need to form a third party and exclude these sort of people to have real progress.

[–]BiostalkerA3 83 points84 points  (0 children)

It is a hate crime. Anyone who says it is not, is in fact a moron.

[–]WardenofSuperjail 171 points172 points  (0 children)

They kidnapped a guy and tortured him, while forcing him to denounce his race and the US president-elect and released it on the internet.

This is pretty much the same thing ISIS does to people of different races/religions. This is like a frightening new mutation of the greatest fears of all Americans: racist-terrorism, or terroracism.

[–]SantaClausIsRealTea 1496 points1497 points  (7 children)

To be fair,

"I do this in the name of Islam!"

Media: Man Kills Nine, Motive Uncertain

"Fuck white people!"

Media: Youths Attack Man, Motive Uncertain

"He came at me with a knife. I had to neutralize him. It's on this video."

Media: Another Person of Color Killed by White Cop: Is Racism to Blame?

[–]DemonicDustBunny 305 points306 points  (0 children)

Don't forget about blaming video games.

[–]notmadjustnomad 157 points158 points  (0 children)

For people who genuinely cannot understand why people are upset about this, this is a decent TLDR.

[–]Yosoff 156 points157 points  (0 children)

If this is not treated as a hate crime then it will be used as a white supremacist recruitment tool for decades. The worst thing they could do for race relations would be to claim that race was not a motive.

[–]hazie 101 points102 points  (11 children)

I don't get it. They literally said "fuck white people". What does it take to constitute a racial motive?

[–]121381 82 points83 points  (0 children)

The victim not being white

[–]Hrodebert54 285 points286 points  (2 children)

All I'm saying, reverse the races and the tone would be different.

It's becoming cool to hate white people and it doesn't look like it's getting any better.

[–]j_sholmes 113 points114 points  (0 children)

Do you remember when the knock out game was popular? 99% of the videos show black youth attacking older white victims. The ONLY hate crime that was every charged was a white boy who attacked a black victim.

[–]tigersharkdude 68 points69 points  (0 children)

"Chicago police say they don't believe a man beaten in an assault broadcast live on Facebook was targeted because he was white."

GTFOH with that bullshit

[–]chevelio 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This will end well. What are they thinking?

They could have even gotten some buzz words in and called it race bullying due to the current climate. Ignoring that aspect is good for no one.

[–]pfeifits 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I feel like I should go riot. But I have to go to work.

[–]EasyE0287 1560 points1561 points  (102 children)

Yeah, ok. And people wonder why a lot of white people aren't happy with current affairs. Just imagine if the races were reversed.

[–]Um_Nope_Sorry 1556 points1557 points  (81 children)

We don't have to imagine. We know. We've seen it already.

If races were reversed, it would have 10 articles on the front page of /r/politics. Instead, all have been removed for being "off-topic".

If races were reversed, it would be on the front page of every single newspaper in the western world. Instead, most reported on it last night and it's off the front page by this morning.

If races were reversed, we would endure editorials from newspapers, whinging from tv pundits, activists, and politicians about how all of white America is to blame. Intead, we get the police trying to tell us that "race was not the motive".

Anyone with half a brain has seen these double-standards in action as clear as day for years now, and it's a huge reason Donald Trump is President. If this keeps up, he'll be President for the full 8 years, and he'll win by even more in 2020.

[–]Tropic33 31 points32 points  (0 children)

As someone else said somewhere in another thread, you can name Dylan roof but you probably can't tell me the name of the Dallas cop shooter without looking it up. The media chooses what it wants to hone in on for its agenda (CNN)

[–][deleted] 215 points216 points  (0 children)

it's a huge reason Donald Trump is President. If this keeps up, he'll be President for the full 8 years, and he'll win by even more in 2020.

Better memorize this USA, because this is goddamn gospel.

[–]The_Directors_Cut 27 points28 points  (0 children)

We put down animals, but coddle monsters.

[–]somethingawefull 139 points140 points  (1 child)

"Fuck white people" Yup, not racially motivated at all.

[–]BFG_StumpThousand 51 points52 points  (0 children)

He probably thought Dylan Roof was just 'boys being boys. It's just a prank bro!"

[–]STOPYELLINGATMEOKAY 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Does that mean if a group of white people attack a black person while calling him the n-word, then it can be downplayed as just "childish play" too? Guess the KKK is just childish play too then?

[–]iushciuweiush 191 points192 points  (2 children)

Makes sense since there aren't any mentally challenged black people in all of Chicago that they had to go to the suburbs and grab a white one.

[–]FluffyBunnyHugs 147 points148 points  (1 child)

I expect this thread to be CENSORED in 3...2...1...

[–]sdfsdfsdfafsda4 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Trump needs to launch a federal investigation of the Chicago police force.

[–]generic_username_12 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I consider myself significantly left leaning politically but this is complete nonsense. It's a hate crime clear as day.

[–][deleted] 40 points41 points  (2 children)

Apparently, they're claiming that he was targeted because he was mentally challenged.

Anyone here think they'd have targeted a mentally disabled black man?

[–]magnora7 29 points30 points  (0 children)

And they didn't yell "Fuck the handicapped!" in the video
