Please announce that Trump would like to be questioned under oath to set the record straight. He would perjure himself so hard.

Original Poster4 points · 1 year ago

So hard. So very hard. Can you see him him being anywhere near as composed as Comey was today?

9 points · 1 year ago

He'd make McCain look coherent.

Original Poster1 point · 1 year ago

That I will give you. I was over here like....

3 points · 1 year ago

"Thanks for joining us today Mr. President. We appreciate you taking the time to answer these questions under oath."

"You're welcome. I'm very very busy you know? Very busy, but this is important."

"We agree Mr President. Just for the record - can you please say your full name?"

"Of course. John Miller."

"Uhh, I asked for your name Mr President."

"I know. My name is John Barron. President Trump would never lie. He's a great man. But I'm John Miller. Not guilty. Case closed."

Please resign.

Original Poster6 points · 1 year ago

Seriously, that was my first thought. And then I laughed at myself...I want to believe that much like Nixon, when things go very, very bad, he would just walk away, but I really don't think Trump can.

Some dude on NPR claimed trump could "retire" and claim it as a victory. The claim was that he could say that he was there to shake things up and he did just that.

I hope he does this.

Original Poster4 points · 1 year ago

I don't care how he leaves, as long as he leaves. But that would still leave us with Pence. So, that's not really a viable option. (though, compared to Trump in office, still a better option). Preferred method is in hand cuffs (unlikely) but all his assets and his family's assets seized for a federal investigation.

Some don't remember that during watergate, the Vice President resigned before Nixon did. It's just wishful thinking but it's happened before.

3 points · 1 year ago

Spiro Agnew's resignation had to do with corruption charges unrelated to the Watergate scandal.

Thank you for the correction!

Original Poster2 points · 1 year ago

I remember (not actually, b/c I am not old enough) because I'm a former HS History teacher, and Spiro Agnew did in fact resign over a criminal investigation related to accepting kickbacks from contractors. He resigned and plead no contest to tax evasion, and Ford was his replacement.
So, with Nixon's resignation, Ford became the only person to serve both as VP and President without being elected to office. So, I could be worse?

Well thank you for teaching me something there.

Original Poster1 point · 1 year ago

Aw well thank you! I honestly just keep that in mind because as terrible as this all seems I believe we can move on after this. I can't imagine living during a time where the president in office was someone that no one had voted for.

I don't care how he leaves, as long as he leaves.

"What James Comey said about my client is mean, and Comey is a meanie. I demand he apologizes to Donald. Thank you."

Original Poster2 points · 1 year ago

A big fat mean.

8 points · 1 year ago · edited 1 year ago

It will say something dumb like, "James Comey just confirmed what we have been saying this entire time: Donald Trump is not under FBI investigation. We urge all parties to do the responsible thing and drop this witch hunt so that President Trump can continue working on the behalf of the American people."

Unless Trump says he gets final say, in which case there will be a lot stuff about fake news and random capitalized words.

EDIT: Nevermind, it calls Comey a liar and is full of spelling and grammatical errors.

Original Poster1 point · 1 year ago

I could not believe that yesterday. I was like, "did I watch a different hearing?"
Weather Update for the state of Delusion: Sunny, and 83, everyday all day.

lol This guy is in no way qualified for the task of defending Trump here. Too bad for Trump all the qualified attorneys ran for the hills when he approached them.

Original Poster3 points · 1 year ago

Because, and I quote, "they don't think he would pay" and, "they were worried he wouldn't listen".

They also cited concerns about harm to reputation and harm to future recruitment efforts.

Original Poster1 point · 1 year ago

Hoooo boy. They had to sting Trump.

*Wait, who am I kidding. Does he have th capacity to feel shame?

None of the DC firms that handle actual white collar criminal investigations wanted to touch Trump. So he had to go with his commercial litigator who has done nothing but bully the opposing side with money and resources or settle with them. This should turn out well.

What, no tweets from the orange man himself?

Original Poster5 points · 1 year ago

They literally kept in him the WH dining room with his aides and personal lawyer and "scheduled" meetings for him. Wanna bet someone is sitting on his phone and won't let him near a computer?

Link to PBS Newshour live stream:
LA Times

As of 1:52 PM the lawyer is still making everyone wait.

Edit: 2:05 and still waiting.

Edit: From previous Newshour streams, the audio normally begins when the show starts so don't be alarmed if you see an empty podium and no audio.

Edit: 2:20 still waiting. These people have no respect for others.

Edit: 2:26 apparently it's about to start.

Edit: Started.

Original Poster3 points · 1 year ago

Thank you! I was wondering what was going on!

Original Poster2 points · 1 year ago

I'm confused, Reuters is tweeting what the lawyer has said... But I see no lawyer.

Time is reporting they released the statement ahead of the meeting in their stream (I've updated my post)

Hmm. Chances that the delay is being caused by Trump firing Kasowitz/Kasowitz quitting moments before he's due to speak to the press?

Original Poster1 point · 1 year ago

Ok I figured it out got distracted by posting, Reuters was tweeting from the written statement.

Trump's lawyer to tweet* after Comey hearing.

Original Poster1 point · 1 year ago

I mean, that's how they announced the FBI Director nominee, so why wouldn't they?

3 points · 1 year ago

Good. Keep digging that hole.

1 point · 1 year ago

Do it!

This is a sign that Trump is innocent. /s

I just want to see if he comes out looking like a ghost, pale and drenched in sweat. Scared of what Comey had said

3 points · 1 year ago

Maybe that's why he's taking so long to come onstage, makeup keeps running

South Carolina
2 points · 1 year ago

So nothing may come of this but basic deflections/"I DIDN'T LIE" type stuff but seriously...could he be resigning?

Why are these guys so tan?

1 point · 1 year ago

And no one cares

The only thing I want to hear is Trump taking an oath and answering questions from Muller, with a charge of perjury hanging over his every word.

Note: this lawyer is a loser big time, he lost the Trump university case and other cases with the blabbermouth client Trump. Even he knows that Trump needs to shut up.

Original Poster1 point · 1 year ago

Wow, I did not know that. I didn't have a chance to look up his resume or history. In the case of Trump University, isn't it still pending? I thought they had offered a settlement but one person does not want to settle and is holding it up.

Remember, Trump told everyone he would NEVER SETTLE! Losing the case was the first part and figuring out just how much every gets is the anti-climax.
