Get ready to have a go to grab and throw disc. This thing really holds up to the hype for me. Back hand hyzer flips. Check. Back hand turnovers. Check. Forehand approach shots. Money! It quickly became a go to for me. Can't think of what to throw. Throw the comet. It can do so much.

I will always love the Comet. It was the disc that taught me to throw. The only thing I have found even close to it is the Fuse. A little different feel but very similar flight l. Both are way underrated discs for sure. Glad to see MJ getting people interested!

Great mold. Get one in Ti if you can find one.

level 2

the new or the old ti? Also how does it compare to the glo version (if you know) :)

I have a handful of the old Ti. I haven't thrown at new Ti yet. I hear its more grippy, but not sure about stability.

As for glow, I have found Discraft's glow plastic to be less stable than other companies' glow plastic, which tends to be more stable. That was certainly true of my glow Zombee, not sure about the Comet, though.

The old Ti Comet is a tick more stable than Z.

Thanks for the insight, I was looking to get the MJ esp swirl glo, but it went out of stock, was looking for something similar in stability, as I could understand the ESP swirl glo was made to be the most "OS" comet to date (according to MJ himself in an AMA)

I got one of those signature ESPs and I think the Ti is still more stable.

level 6

I might give the new ti a go then! Thanks

I have a new Ti Buzzz, and it's pretty much on par with my Z Buzzz as far as stability goes.

I ordered one a Comet as well after a users recommendation. Should be able to give it a shot later this week.

The blue looks really nice.

Just got the comet (glow) back in the bag after a few months without one. First throw on the course with it I based hole 1 longs at Brent Hambrick. God I love that disc.

Love this disc. When you get comfortable with this disc, you'll find you're using it for more and more shots.

I love the glide it has. And the way it sticks when it lands. Had a guy tell me that disc will teach you how to put more spin on a disc while using less arm speed. I had no clue what he was talking about. And after I continually over powered it, and turned it over a ton of times, I figured out what he was saying. And now I'll always bag one.

Plus MJ throws them, so yeah...throw comets!

I love the glide it has.

Even after reading so much about the glide it really surprised me on first time playing with Comet. Four times I threw it softly on around 150 ft approach thinking it wouldn't even make it to basket. Watched astonished as it sailed 50+ ft past the basket.

The best single golf disc ever made. Master it and the world is your to conquer! More seriously, it will help your game out a lot in the long run.

The comet is my favorite disc and I always have 3 in my bag.

Wise choice.

After reading so many good reviews, comments, recommendations etc. about the Discraft Comet I decided to get one myself since it was last remaining disc in clearance sale. I'm really interested in having dedicated one disc round disc and diagnostics tool for form in addition to Nova.

It is my first ever Discraft disc, preferred plastic type (Z-line, Champion, Opto, VIP etc.) and my first blue disc since starter set. I've noticed blue discs are fantastic to locate in forests as there is no blue in nature, except water. Disc weighs 173g and is pretty domey as seen in second picture. From review I've gotten the impression that 170 - 175g domey Comets fly nicer than max weight or 160g flat ones.

It was a crap shoot buying disc online without ever seeing it but I felt compelled to when it was the last one and it ticked all the right boxes for me.

Snap it out smooth and clean and behold its majesty.

I thought they were a super flippy disc, how does being premium ish plastic affect their flight?

level 2

A lot of people think they're flippy, but if your form is clean, it can handle quite a bit of power. It's no wind fighter by any means, but it'll handle a good snap.

Yep. I use mine for forehands and backhands out to 275'

I was bit conflicted with [4, 4 -2, 1] rated flight and all the text reviews about it. Got to play one round with it before it started raining and first impression is, dear god that disc lives up to the hype and more!

Mine is brand new Z plastic in 173g weight and I have a noodly arm with 340-ish ft absolute max with any disc and questionable form. I gradually started applying more power off the tee as round progressed and was really surprised that putting 80-90% power into Comet it never turned if thrown with any hyzer or even flat. One of the first holes has 325 ft rather steep downhill section and because of flight numbers I threw 50-60% with hyzer fearing disc would turn... wrong move. It rode the same hyzer line to the ground.

Later there is one flat relatively open 325 ft hole where I wanted to really put some mustard into Comet. Put that 80% power on what I thought was flat but misreleased it on tiniest of anhyzers... once again Comet just rode that exact same anny angle, flattening just a bit at the end of flight before touching down 275 ft from teepad.

Based on just one round with it I'd say it flies closer to [4, 6, 0, 0.5] for me. Throwing it around 60% power there is a hint of fade at the very end of flight. Hint meaning side movement of 10 ft at 200 ft distance.

That color is perfect, I need it

Just last night, I got out of work early. Ran to my buddies to pick him up for an impromptu round. Forgot that I took my disc out of the car for the first time and years and got to the course with only a comet. Luckily my buddy had a backup magic so I had my go to putter. With those two discs my score was right where it would have been and had I not had a double bogey on 17, I would have thrown better than my usual score at the course. Great disc to shape just about any line, just hard to throw a good hyzer with it.

I have not thrown another disc that points out form flaws better than a Comet. Good choice!
