Series finale. Thank you for participating in the subreddit and watching the show.
I recently rewatched The Evil Dead 2 and was trying to figure out how all the effects were done.
I know all the monsters were stop motion, using puppets, clay and such, but there were a few I wasn't so sure about. Like the scene of the evil fog retreating at dawn. I assume they had fog machines throw up the heavy smoke, (which I don't know if it was nitrogen or not), then reversed the footage, but I'm not sure, because it looked like it was moving in a specific direction. Did they use fans to direct the smoke?
There's also the infamous laughing scene. I thought maybe it was stop motion but it doesn't look like it. Ash's movement's aren't choppy like they would be if he was part of the stop-motion. The deer might've been an animatronic but I'm not sure. And the movement of the lamp sort of amazed me. So were they all on strings? They'd have to be, right? If they were, they did a good job of hiding them.
Then there was the father's ghost appearing. I don't know if they used a projector to project the separately edited footage of him talking and just made the scene look seemless or what?
Not as over the top, but the humor is there. The writing is better than average, and the first 4 seasons are available on Netflix. The series picks up steam halfway through the first season.
My introduction to the Franchise was through Army of darkness. After a couple rewatches I went backwards through evil dead 2 and one. And then obviously I got to Ash vs evil dead. How about you screwheads? What was your gateway into the show?
I am having a photo op at a convention with Bruce Campbell. This is my first convention and I’m a fan and I really want this photo op to be awesome. I am a 20 year old female and I will be dressed as Ash; brown shorts, torn up blue shirt, I won’t be carrying a chainsaw just because I don’t feel like carrying that around all day. I will have the shotgun and the silver hand from Army of Darkness. I want to do a awesome silly, funny, or serious pose with Bruce but I can’t come up with anything. I’m willing to bring props and anything but I just can’t come up with a awesome pose. I’m open to any ideas, please help I really want this to turn out good.
I watched until the middle of S2. I dropped it, as I got busy with some things at the time, and forgot to finish it. I'm definitely ending this series after I finish exams (I love this franchise with all my heart), but I wanna know if the finale will leave me as cold as many people aparently are, in case I have to be ready for disappointment.
