Stickied post

For those who don't know, this week in the sub will involve a lot fun and confusion and new people thanks to the 4th annual r/baseball trade deadline game. If you want more information, read this.

For new trade acquisitions, feel free to use this thread to introduce yourselves! Please familiarize yourself with the sub rules. In addition to this thread, definitely pop into our (almost always very active) stickied discussion threads. They're for everything from baseball talk to songs you want to share to advice on relationship problems (and a healthy dose of copypasta). Welcome to r/Cardinals!

If you want to play or have questions about the game, reach out to u/kuhanluke, u/totschlag, or me.

Also, consider checking out the r/baseball census.

Cardinals @ Cubs

Probable Pitchers:

Cardinals: Jack Flaherty (3-4, 3.24 ERA)

  • A rain delay chopped Flaherty’s recent start against the Reds to five innings, but the righty was convincing. His scoreless, two-hit start and ability to make pitches in big spots put the Cardinals in a winnable spot, though they fell 8-2.

Cubs: Jon Lester (12-2, 2.58 ERA)

  • Lester finished the first half tied with Aaron Nola and Max Scherzer for the most wins in the NL (12) and held the NL’s fourth best ERA (2.58). There's no place like Wrigley Field for the lefty, who is 5-1 with a 1.98 ERA in nine home starts.

First Pitch: 01:20 PM CT

My wife and I have been looking into some tickets and found the Gametime app. Anyone have any experiences with it with Busch stadium? Does it work? Is it legit? Thanks in advance!

Hey everyone. I've searched everywhere to try and find an answer to this question and I can't find a definite answer. We are going to the Kenny Chesney concert this Saturday at Busch and I was wondering if any of the lots allowed tailgating/grilling. I know Ballpark Village does NOT. But does anyone know for sure if it is or isn't allowed in any of the other lots or garages?

Cardinals @ Cubs

Probable Pitchers:

Cardinals: Carlos Martinez (6-5, 3.08 ERA)

  • The Reds got the best of the right-hander on Friday, accumulating six hits and three runs in five innings. Martinez had won the previous three outings, and the Cardinals need him to return to that form following the All-Star break.

Cubs: Kyle Hendricks (6-8, 3.92 ERA)

  • Hendricks is working on his fastball command. He has gone at least five innings in 18 of 19 starts and allowed three earned runs or fewer in 15 of those. But he hasn't gone as deep as the Cubs would like. He's 3-5 with a 3.18 ERA in nine home starts.

First Pitch: 06:05 PM CT

I recently came into possession of a bunch of cool vintage Cardinals items - jerseys, old trading cards. There's even a 1946 World Series collectors black bat.

I realize professional dealers need to make a profit but it's almost seems like it's not worth it to try to sell them, the offers are so low, and negotiating is basically shut down.

If I can't find a private fan/interested party I might turn to donating these items.

Does anyone know of a worthy place to donate Cardinals stuff?

Hey Cards fans.. not a Cards fan myself but huge baseball fan and fantasy baseball player.. I need your help! What is the general consensus about Tommy Pham and Jose Martinez?.. I have both on my fantasy squad and I'm kind of worried they are moving to back up roles.. should I be? Is Pham the odd man out in the outfield? Bader, Fowler and Ozuna seem to be the starters? also it looks like Jose no longer has a spot at 1B? with the new manager i'm wondering if things will change.. please help!

I have a new niece and her family lives far away from St. Louis and it would be the best present for her

Hello guys due to unforeseen circumstances my wife and I are not going to be able to go to the games this Saturday. I purchased her Valentine’s Day present which was section 30 Row 10 for the 6:00 game. (behind cardinals dugout so she can get a glimpse of Yadi) I purchased insurance on these 2 because they were expensive I’m going to file a claim on them if I can’t sell them for what I have in them. I also have 2 tickets to the 12:05 game which is a Snow make up game from April these seats are in section 224 row 21. I have $150 in these I really want a cardinals fan to go and sit next to the Cubs fan in the next seat and cheer for the Cardinals. If anyone is interested in these feel free to message me. Thanks and Go Cards

Good or bad idea? Looking at first row of 111 or 107/189 first row behind the bullpen. I can see the appeal for the inebriated to be in the cheaper seats. Anyone have any experience?

This would be for a Monday 7:10 game against the Rockies so I don’t think it’ll be packed that game.

TIA
