I'm going to be honest with you guys. I've been struggling to get these posts up on time due to an extremely demanding internship I've been doing this summer.
Then this past week I had several extremely devastating things happen to me and I just haven't been able to find joy in something I used to care so much about. I'm taking a break from the competition to focus on my mental health and spend time with my family and friends during this trying time for me. I appreciate all of the support you have all given me about the competition and I'm looking forward to returning when I'm in a better mental and physical state.
Again, thank you for all of your participation in this activity. It's been an honor watching you all submit your best work and show appreciation for each other's work. The monthly competition will return and I hope you can accept my apology :(
I do want to congratulate the winners from July! As always you guys knocked it out of the park and everyone deserved to win this one!
Thank you everyone for participating and I'll catch you on the flip side <3
We have a couple things for you in this mid-month update! During the State of the Sub (SOS) Survey that folks didn't know we vote on what monthly pattern our lovely /u/wildvi0let will release for free so we want to make sure to feature that prominently from now on!
It is that time again! The community-voted free cross stitch pattern polls are open!
Voting Ends August 31st.
No Stupid Questions Thread
Please use the rest of this thread as a NSQT and also give us some suggestions on what you'd like to see as a sticky for the end of the month! We may take your idea!
For now, the No Stupid Questions Thread is where you can feel free to post ANY and ALL questions you have related to cross stitching!
OK, my fifth time trying to upload, I still can't rotate the picture, hope I'm doing this right. Reddit Markup makes me stabby (so guess I should get back to sewing). Pattern is by StitchingwithZeal on Etsy . My boyfriend's sister & her new husband really liked it, though all i see are the mistakes. Now time to get back on the half-done projects i gave up on in middle school.
I see a lot a lot of patterns for sale at rather prominent shops of super heroes, television characters, movie stars, video games, etc. Is this legal, or are they just figuring nobody is going to sue them over a $5 pattern?
The argument I can think of for legality is that you’re not actually selling the image. You’re selling detailed instructions on making a lot of little X’s that when put together will be the image. But I floated that idea at the legal advice sub, and they pretty much said “uh, no.”
Anybody here have any insight on this?
