I understand that if L was killed by someone directly after Light met him it'd only make him look more suspicious, but Light was already planning to kill L through the help of Misa's eyes. Wouldn't this also be a viable way to kill L, without the need for Misa? Or does it extend beyond the abilities of the Death Note?
L puts both Misa Amane and Light in prison, at which time both of them relinquish control of the notebook. 2 weeks pass, and the killings start again. We know this is part of Light's plan, where he can later point to the fake rule in the notebook and say because Misa and he were held captive, they must be innocent. We also know that L took precautions and kept Light and Misa in captivity for 50 days, even after killings continued.
But let's say in an alternate universe, when the killings began to start up again, L notices the pattern of killings that benefit Yotsuba, and within the 50 days, takes actions to corner Higuchi and trap him without letting Light out from captivity.
At this point, L would have the notebook, notice the Shinigami, and realize that there must be 2 notebooks. He also recognizes that it's possible that one of the rules is fake, and L then carries out the 13 days test with a death row inmate who writes a name in the notebook. 13 days later, that prisoner would still be alive, and L would realize that the rule is fake.
At this point, L would have the notebook and pretty solid proof that Light carried his actions as Kira but has now lost his memories.
So would L have punished Light? Or would L have been satisfied by never letting Light hold the notebook again? If Light doesn't touch the notebook, he would never have his memories as Kira, and be the smart kid who is motivated to stop criminals. We see how hard he works to stop Kira when he doesn't have memories of himself.
If you were L, what would you have done? What is the best course of action?
In hypothetical retellings of Evangelion, Shinji is often replaced with, shall we say, a more conventional protagonist. A lot of the story would be different if Shinji was different since so much of NGE is focused on the characters and their personalities.
Well, Light isn't your typical protagonist and that's precisely why I'd like to see him in NGE. As such a fundamentally different person from Shinji, the relationships (which are the backbone of Eva's appeal to me) would look nothing like how they were in canon. Speculating on Light's growth in this new setting also intrigues me.
What would happen if you put start of series Light in Shinji's place at the start of the anime? He has Shinji's experiences butLight's personality, intelligence, etc.. What will be his relationship with Gendo, the other Children, Misato, etc.?
In addition to the different character dynamics, I do have to wonder how putting Light in a different setting and giving him a very different power would change him? Some people like to believe Light was a psycho killer waiting to happen but this goes against all evidence. Light was not destined to be Kira. The Death Note offered him a unique power and he had zero oversight. By contrast, piloting an Eva will be a wholly different experience and I'm not at all sure if Light would go off the rails with this new position. What do you think?
When rem wrote L's name in his death note he died but when ryuk wrote lights name why ryuk didn't?
Rem killed L to save Misa from being found out, and so she died too because she used her powers to save a human.
But wouldnt it have been a far better Idea to let L conduct his experiments to find out if the 14-day-rule was made up or real, and then kill the convicts used for the experiments?
This way she would not have directly killed anyone who was threatening Misas life, right?
Wouldnt she have survived if doing so?
Did anyone notice how,if u compare numbers from the bible up to 108(number of chaps in the series)u'll see how theres always something that corrisponds with that number from the B and DN??
Does this mean the story is some twisted re-interpretation of the Bible?
I read about that ione theory which states that Light was reborn as Death God and that in the Anime he was the Skull headed Death God who met Ryuk in the End.
Anything new about that?
Did the Authors say anything about that?
In the anime we see him doing the entrance exams for the university and pass with the maximum score, but what course is he doing?
It plays during various moments on the show like when L is watching Light talking to his family on the dinner while he receives that fake news about the 1000 detectives arriving to Japan, or during 13:39 on episode 10 when Light is with L talking to Light's dad on the hospital bed, it's quite similiar to Light's theme but it isn't that, whats the name of this song?
