Does anyone else think the season finale was super rushed? "Oh btw there is a queen coming and now we have to kill her." What is also dumb is that the aliens came long ago and somehow those advanced aliens got slaughters by humans with spears... hmmm.
However, my favorite part about this series is the amazing plot twists! Especially the moon base, the was pretty cool to reveal. What was your favorite things?
Tom Mason vs Rick Grimes. Who is the better leader, fighter, and more likable?
Maggie vs Maggie. Who is the better and hotter Maggie?
Anne Glass vs Michone. Who is the better love interest/sidekick of the main character?
I am in the middle of the second season. Considering all the effort to care for prisoners and the need to keep moving, I find myself shaking my head when they decide to take in aliens or harnessed humans who they now know are linked to the collective. Honestly in a lot of ways I'm with Pope (who gets some of the best lines btw).
I just finished the episode where Sara died and all I could think was "Why didn't you pay attention when Tom showed your arse how to make fire."
Seriously, there's no excuse for Pope to not have picked up that skill after so many years. He didn't even try.
I've been watching this TV show for the past week for free on Prime Video. Today, while attempting to watch the video, it is no longer free but is showing a price for all the episodes. What just happened?
I doubled check my prime membership and it's NOT expired. Other shows are fine. I would have appreciated a warning, something along the line of "the show you're watching will not longer be on prime video as of [date]..."
Seriously guys this show seemed like a dream come true until they brought in spoiler.
My favourite part of the whole show was the harnesses. The scene in the factory where they come down the chute was genuinely unnerving... and I have a thing for torture factories full of screaming humans.
With that in mind, what else should I watch?
At the end of Season 5 episode 8 (Stalag 14th Virginia), Pope is the leader of a bunch of crazy people who are gathered around watching a fight. There is a badass song playing in the background. The song continues when that guy tells Pope that Mason is alive.
I've been trying to find the song for a while now and I haven't been able to.
What is the name of the song???
I actually haven't watched Falling Skies in a very long time, so I'm going off what I remember. I recently became re-interested in the show, so yeah.
EDIT: Apparently seasons 4 and 5 were really bad. I forgot about them, so I will have to look back into it. I do remember the lazy and lackluster series finale.
If I could only choose 3, I would choose Maggie, Weaver, and Pope.
Maggie is my favorite character on the show for several reasons. She fills the role of female badass on the show really well. She's really hot. She started out as an antagonist but quickly became a helpful protagonist. Maggie's actress did great imo, and her and Hal had good chemistry. I also thought she usually handled herself really well emotionally and physically (well except for the spikes situation. She always faced the challenge, whatever it was, and she usually didn't let her emotions compromise her. Focused for sure
Weaver is my second favorite because imo he was a better leader than Tom Mason due to being more tactical since he was in the military. I also thought he was the badass of the show. His actor did really well. Weaver just fought really hard, saved lots of people, and I thought he was a bit more reliable than Tom. He kept his sanity and good nature through the show, and he beat up Pope! Also did a good job of getting his people ready and even hyped and encouraged.
Pope is my third favorite because he is so charismatic and crazy. He started out as an antagonist, but eventually he became helpful. However, Pope was always a good rival for Tom Mason. I like how Pope was also a gang leader and had his own agenda a lot. With that being said, he really did care for several people and he showed heart. Plus he is tough. Good performance by his actor. To bad he became psycho evil and was killed at the end.
What do you think?
Edit: Tom Mason was an okay lead. He had WAY to much plot amour! Tom was definitely cocky and annoying sometimes. Compared to most other people, Tom had it really easy. Heck, his situation with Pope at the end of the series is sort of Tom's fault. His actor did alright I guess.
I like Hal and maybe even Ben more than Tom. I might even like Anne Glass more.
The most memorable finale for me was Season 1. After blowing up some aliens but losing a lot of people, a ship lands in front of Tom and Weaver. Then the overlord talks through Karen! I was like "oh shit!" when Tom went into the alien ship. I knew shit was gonna go down and I was excited! Plus Weaver was really surprised and was left behind lol.
What do you think?
Seasons 1-3 were good. Season 4- Horrible, Season 5- Mediocre at best. I think my favorite scenes in S5 were the ones with Cochise and his father/Anne. To me, it was touching. I would have liked if they had taken a little more time to explore some backstory or have an episode focused on Cochise and the Volm.
