Major developments so far:
PMU groups and Wisdom Movement joined Al Abadi's party for 24 hours before the Alliance collapsed because of the huge backlash it got
Rumours of Victory Alliance joining Allawi's National Alliance, the Kurdish opposition and the Sadrists in a huge alliance in an attempt to gain strongholds in all of Iraq
Maliki, PMU groups and Al Hakim in talks to enter together as a unified Shia Islamist party
To be updated as new stuff comes up
Over the last half year or so, Reddit has been rolling out a completely new layout and site redesign, and have recently replaced reddit.com with the new theme (you can still see the old reddit at old.reddit.com). This has caused some confusion on reddit and on r/Iraq. Posts such as this and others on r/announcements detail some of the changes that Reddit has been making.
People who knew the old r/Iraq theme should note it didn't go away. It's still available at old.reddit.com/r/Iraq. It's not on the new reddit anymore because the site redesign has wiped out the custom themes and styling. The customization you're able to do now is much simpler than before. Just look at popular subreddits like r/aww, r/syriancivilwar, etc. There's a big difference from how they were before.
I am not aware of further breaking redesigns by Reddit. Still, I feel the much more simplified theming/styling is a huge blow to the uniqueness and customization of the site.
Please bear in mind this redesign is Reddit-wide and not for any of the below reasons.
- The subreddit has not been hacked
- There is no conspiracy or trolling going on
- r/Iraq and other subreddits are not going to be decommissioned
It's normal for Facebook and Twitter to go down in times like these in Iraq but am I the only one with no access to services provided by Google?
(First time posting on Reddit so idk if I'm even doing the post right)
