Haley meets Arvin's parents but when things don't go as planned, fate leads to an unexpected reunion with all of her ex-boyfriends. Meanwhile, the family seizes on a nursing home visit with Jay's mean sister, Becky, to settle old scores. But as Jay, Claire and Mitchell compete for her time, Phil, Cam and Gloria end up getting trapped in the home's basement with no way out.
Mitchell sneaks out to "Hero-Con" with fanboy Phil, dressed as their favorite characters from the show "Clash of Swords." It's great until Phil commits the ultimate fan faux pas. In a clash of another kind, Gloria's dinosaur party for Joe is ruined when her nemesis, Dr. Donna Duncan, upstages her with a far bigger and better party right next door.
The next season should start with Manny in prison due to a string of sex crimes he committed with that knife he brought on his road trip. He's got a history of coming onto the women in his family, and he's pretentious as fuck so it wouldn't be too hard to buy into this.
The season would revolve around his trial and give Mitchel something to do besides snipe at Cam or take care of Gargantuan Baby while the show continues to ignore Lily.
Meanwhile, the Dunphy's go bankrupt having started so many failing businesses throughout the series. Eventually, they lose the home, and the whole family sans, Manny, Gloria, and Mitchell (due to the trial) help them pack up.
While there, Jay is walking up the stairs and he takes a tumble on a broken step. Cut to Manny being found
guilty and given the death penalty. Cut back to Jay and his broken neck.
Last words of the series by Phil Dunphy: "I should have fixed that step."
I waa going through the casts' instagram accounts and I figured that although Aubrey is following everyong, nobody's following her back except Luke and Mitch. Weird cause all other actors seem to follow one another. And unlike other casts, nobody posts a happy birthday postings for her and she is just unseen from anyone's accounts! What is she an outcast?
Modern Family has some really great opening scenes, they're so jam-packed and funny. My favourites are the ones involving the whole family in one, such as the 3 phone calls in "Arrested" and the Christmas/Dede's newsletter discussion in "Express Christmas". What are your favourite opening scenes (before the title card/track)?
On that note, can someone explain why the opening scenes in B99 are called cold opens, but not in MF? IMO the style of the opening scenes in both is nearly the same
