I could be wrong but upon googling it I read that bad eyesight is mostly genetic and the environmental factors that cause it are usually only extreme causes like too much UV radiation. So if the clones are genetically identical, how come only Cosima is severely shortsighted without glasses?

This season is very difficult to get through.

If I hadn't read that seasons 4 and 5 are really good, I would already have stopped watching.

It just seems so hacky, like almost Prison Break bad at times. It's a sad waste of an excellent cast and I'm so glad it returns to form in the next season.

Anyone know what the hell went wrong with Season 3? Or is it just my imagination?

Edit: I should mention, the Alison + Donnie side-plot is golden though, and I love seeing Felix get dragged into it.

What ever happened to cal lmfao? Last we see him is somewhere in season 3 and when s4 starts, they say he went away for a while. Seeing as he never came back in s5, im assuming they cut him as an actor/he chose to not return ?

I binged watched Orphan Black completely and have been inspired to do a photoshoot of the different clones/characters as I do acting. I defenitely want to include Sarah & Cosima as my top characters and likely Alyson. May throw in Rachel and Helena too. Perhaps even Beth.

So what I need is outfit ideas. For starters, I found the exact glasses Cosima uses but those are about $200-$300 but I don't use glasses so I just need a one's that are fake and cheap and match as close as possible with the style.

So here are some of my images as inspiration: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/V5ts3rZddDY/maxresdefault.jpg (I really like her take on this).

Feel free to include images or links of things I should include.

I'm getting bangs for Alyson with headband and going likely the soccer mom look vs the pearls look. For cosima I'm really leaning towards reds and scarf ofcourse with dreads. For Sarah I am going with her actual look of mostly black. Now, I don't know wether to just focusing the outfit only from the torso up or doing a full body outfit. At the moment I'm just putting a list so I can buy everything I'll need for the characters. I want to keep it in character so that the character shines even if someone doens't know the show. Help me put this together....

Hi all, I've gone through the original score and couldn't find the song. I honestly may just have missed a couple of the songs, it's been difficult finding a full list of all original songs on the show. What is the song playing at around the 1:25 mark? It's from the scene between Leekie, Cosima, and Delphine when Leekie tells Cosima she could be on the cover of Scientific American. Thanks!

Has anyone else seen it? I'd totally recommend to any OB fans. There's a lot of parallels and without giving away too much I think it's a very compelling story. Best to go in blind without spoiling too much for yourself.

I can recall having read that the OB "universe" is some sort of generic North America in which the US and Canada don't exist as separate entities, and the locales are deliberately ambiguous as to country, despite Alison's exaggerated Canadian accent (although being raised in Canada doesn't necessarily imply ongoing residence there).

So I was somewhat startled by Felix's speech in S5E08 in which he makes an explicit reference to having been brought (with Sarah) to Canada by S. Also a couple of skyline shots of Toronto in which the CN Tower is plainly visible (perhaps beginning in Season 4, I don't exactly recall). Plus in the final episode, the school building at which Sarah is attending HS classes has a Canadian flag proudly flying atop it.

I am wondering if at some point the show runners made a decision for OB to "come out" as Canadian show per se, or it these incidents were just "slip-ups".

Of course all the visible license plates in the outdoor scenes have been recognizable as Ontario tags, and I'm certain that even in Season 1 it was sometimes possible to read the word "Ontario" on them (assuming you wouldn't otherwise recognize one — and you even sometimes see them on the highway where I live so there's no need to visit Canada to learn what they look like).

Hi! Apologies if this has already been posted in this sub, I didn't want to look too much in case I saw a load of spoilers for season 5. As the title says, I was wondering if there was a recap for seasons 1-4? It has been a really long time since I finished season 4 and for various reasons I'm only just about to start season 5. Thanks!

Due to a low number of comic shop orders Crazy Science is cancelled though the first issue still hit it's printing date. Comixology has the digital copy. You can see plot teasers for the next two issues plus Tony in Vegas for issue 3. They say August 29th on them but the plug has been pulled.

Some cute moments for the shippers though Cosima still has nightmare trauma I guess. Zarin and Michaela hiding something isn't that gripping but I do wonder what the intent was for Scott getting a computer virus from Krystal. An OK start but not really needed given the show ended so solidly. Delphine's hippie look was cool though.

I watched this movie thinking it looked like it channeled some similar vibes to Orphan Black (being about 7 identical twin sisters - all played by Noomi Rapace - who have to secretly live one life in a future dystopia where population overrun is managed through making siblings illegal). But IMHO I was a bit disappointed with the film itself as it seemed to have more potential than I think it managed to deliver on. But I still felt that others here might have seen it and have opinions on it. Thoughts?

Shouldn’t they have the same eyesight, allergies, etc?

Because at the core is the same genetic makeup. While their experiences distinguish them and each clone is unique, I love seeing glimpses of similarities too every once in a while. Whether intentional or not, it was pretty neat. A small example I just noticed from rewatching a clip:

  1. Sarah's laugh when Helena is singing
  2. Helena's laugh when she's helping Donnie make soap

There are larger examples. Like their shared sense of justice. They all go through different journeys to get there, but even Rachel ultimately does the right thing. And they're all so wonderfully messed up. Except Cosima. She's my dawg.

The clones don't look like Kendall because her DNA is technically different from theirs considering she has two sets of DNA. If Kendall and her brother had been born separately, would she look like the Leda clones and he look like the Castor's?

If the Leda clones share 100% XX DNA with Kendall and the Castor clones share 100% XY DNA with her, what percentage of DNA do they share with her overall? I feel like Kendall's DNA would be more female than male, so would the Leda's share like 75% DNA overall and the Castor's around 25%?

When it was discovered that Sarah and Helena were twins, is there a way they could have edited one of their DNA after birth so that they wouldn't have the same clone ID? If not for all the clones being raised separately, the only other way they'd be able to tell Helena apart from Sarah is by looking at her internal organs.
