This would be cool, plus it would work since the show has already established they had a band (the fred heads). Will the band show up in the flashback episode?
At first glace, the idea of Lodge building a private prison in the middle of nowhere seems kind of arbitrary. Why not a resort? Or a strip mall, or anything else?
But then it hit me.
Lodge is connected to the NYC Mafia. By owning a prison, he can create a criminal haven. Bad guys will use their connections to get transferred to Lodge's prison where they can live like kings while keeping in touch with their people on the inside (in exchange for Lodge taking a cut of the profit).
Furthermore, Lodge will have leverage over any crime family that has people in his facility. Instant hostages, legally required to stay in Lodge's custody. He can keep an eye on rival crime families while making their lives on the inside easier or harder, depending on how their organization treats him. It's genius.
TL;DR: Lodge isn't building a prison. He's building the Continental goddamn Hotel.
First of all, let me make it clear that I am not hating on Riverdale; I quite like and enjoy it.
In my opinion, this last season's writing was not the greatest, and at times, quite bad. I feel like there are so many questions that went unanswered, and I feel like when writing, the writers didn't actually know where they were going.
I always thought that when you're a television writer you have a clear outline of the entire season, of all the plotlines, etc. I feel like, when it comes to Riverdale season 2, this wasn't the case. I noticed that when Roberto would post the latest script title page on Instagram, it was only a couple of episodes ahead of the episode that was currently filming at that time. It seems that the writers were writing as the season went on. Is this normal? Could it have contributed to the forgotten plotlines, unanswered questions, the mess that is the whole Black Hood storyline and Chic storyline?
Feel free to discuss all of this.
What we know so far: -Veronica’s speakeasy in pop’s -Archie in jail temporarily -Archie joins serpents? -Hiram still evil af -Reggie’s dad is in it -flashback episode -musical episode (hopefully not lipsynced/overdubbed so much) -Gladys & jellybean show up -Falice -Ethel unfortunately still in the show 😒 (for now) -the cult is satanic? -moose & Kevin -choni -black hood not hal...? -ghoulies, Hiram’s prison, Penelope’s brothel (Add anything I’ve missed)
What are your predictions for what will happen in season 3? What do you want to happen? These comments should be interesting. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s thoughts 🙂
Also I'm lowkey into Betty's dad wtf
I kinda ship him and Hiram Lodge together ...
I noticed that the music in the background of the footage at the end (where Betty sees the babies being held over the fire) is a song by an actual Wiccan band. It's well known in the pagan/witch circles of the world as a goddess chant calling to a multitude of female deities (I'm not a witch or Wiccan but I listen in on their music from time to time...I'm weird. I'm a weirdo). Don't know whether this is significant or whether RAS is just on a witch-happy joyride because of Sabrina but I thought it was interesting...
I know this probably is asked a million times on this sub but I couldn’t find much mentioning about this issue. Throughout the show things are very old fashioned form police cars to the hospital. Yet, also thought the show, technology is shown such as laptops and emails and smartphones which don’t meet the timeline very well. Am I the only one who cares about this?
Riverdale is a television series for The CW/Netflix, based on characters from Archie Comics. Set in the present, the series offers a bold, subversive take on Archie, Jughead, Betty, Veronica and their friends, exploring the surreality of small-town life — the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale’s wholesome façade.
