This is an announcement to welcome our new sister subreddit: /r/AskSpain.
/r/Spain has always had two separate user groups: those who want to share / discuss news and other things related to Spain, and those who travel to Spain and need help from the community.
To avoid spam and other malicious content, there are automatic filters in place that unfairly penalize the new users that want to ask question about Spain. To avoid that we have created /r/AskSpain, a place that will have different moderation rules.
To all those that are knowledgeable about Spain: we hope that you join this new subreddit and help our fellow redditors solve their doubts about Spain.
I will be studying in Spain for the next 7 months in Vicalvaro, and I'm wondering in what area (max 30-40min traveltime) in Madrid I should get a room.
I'm not the richest (budget of max 500 euros per month), but I would like a nice area that is not too far of Vicalvaro by metro or bus (or whatever goes there). I'd love a student-oriented area, needs to be safe and have some things to do.
Thank you in advance!!!
Soy un estudiante de medicina de la India. Realmente no me gusta aquí.
Hey everyone! I’ve officially been wed and I’m ready to make my appointment to apply for my residency card. However, after much search online I’m a little lost of which website and/or options I select to make an appointment for the card.
Additionally, when the appointment arrives, what is the normal process and time frame of receiving my NIE?
If someone could provide me with direct links for Madrid and/or their personal experience that would be great. Thanks everyone!
Hello fellow Spanish! I am going to stay in Madrid during this weekend and I was thinking about visiting the Warner park. ( Maybe on Sunday) Where should I buy the tickets ( To get the lower prices ) Also, is it a good idea to visit the park in the summer ? How hot is the weather? Thank you and have a lovely weekend!
Tomorrow I am going on a three hour car ride alone. I'd like to listen to a Spanish language podcast or storytelling audio while I drive. It would be great if it were on Spotify as I am a premium user of that service.

I have been in spain (Almería) for arounda monthnow, working at a bar. I never signed a contract to work here; I assumed this was just because they werent going to pay me much and wanted to illegally avoid tax or something. However when leaving work yesterday I ran into someone who said he worked at the same tapas bar for a week, its first ever week, opening the kitchen and even doing the orders. They never paid him. They have yet to pay me, and told me they will tomorrow (my last day). I am slightly worried that they wont. If they don't, is there anything I can do? Before you say it, I know it was stupid not to sign a contract, but I'm lazy, and really wanted a bar job to practice Spanish! Cheers for any tips/advice
I was thinking of attending graduate school in spain but i wanted to make sure i picked the right university. I’m looking for a good business college to apply for a masters degree. I notice that some universities have english only course options. This is a plus for me but i could also do the courses in spanish. What universities in spain are considered the best?
