I love this project and am just happy for the chance to buy more so cheap. i don't know how to show the transaction here but i'm super psyched for the future of the decentralized internet.
Glad to see excitement and all the wallet talk in the comments. There are actually a variety of ways to store Substratum. The most secure long term storage is a hardware wallet.
Substratum compatible wallets include:
Exodus (Desktop Wallet) - https://www.exodus.io/
Ethos (Mobile option in specific countries) - https://www.ethos.io/universal-wallet/
Enjin (Mobile Wallet) - https://enjinwallet.io/
MyEtherWallet (You can also download a copy of the site for offline transactions or create a paper wallet for added security) - https://www.myetherwallet.com/
Trezor or Ledger Hardware Wallets (via MyEtherWallet) - https://trezor.io/ or https://www.ledgerwallet.com/ (Always recommended to ONLY purchase hardware wallets from the manufacturer sites or very trusted sources)
if only there was a fiat/sub gateway I’m getting ripped off fiat->eth->binance->sub
Good for you, I went ahead and picked up more today as well.
You do have a secure place to hold that SUB right? Not keeping it on an exchange or anything right?
Do you need to create a custom token if you want to put it on your ledger nano?
I use exodus, its a software wallet. Never had issues. Note that i hold only a couple hundreds on this one, as its vulnerable throught my pc.
I like Exodus. However, you and I need to trust Exodus.
What do you mean by "vulnerable through my pc"?
As long as your password is stored on paper, ...?
Well, you dont think the private key to transfer funds. The keyphrase is only used to recover the adresses. So if my exodus password is compromised through a keylogger or something or somebody gains access to my computer, the private key is pretty useless.
For the ledger, you use MyEtherWallet or "MEW". Just generate that Ether address (if you don't already have it) and send the SUB to it. SUB is one of the default tokens so it will show up without needing to do anything custom. As /u/TolaGarf stated, you will need to send a little bit of ETH to that same wallet if you ever need to get it out. But like a little, like 0.00001 ETH will be fine for alot of transfers. 0.00000002 Ether is what the average transfer costs.
You can use mycrypto.com or myetherwallet.com to connect with the Ledger. It's pretty easy to use. Do keep in mind you will need a tiny amount of ETH to move SUB again from the Ledger, if needed.
umm. yes. it's all on my exchange account.
Is there a paper wallet for Sub?
It is an ERC20 token so a ETH paper wallet would work.
Great deal, bro
The Substratum Network fully decentralizes the web, allowing anyone with its Open Source software to be paid to host websites and serve requests.
