Rewatched "Majority Rule" last night and I noticed something I missed before... when Claire takes her friend Louis back to the ship so she can examine him for brain damage in sickbay, she not only changes back into uniform, she takes the time to put the green streak back in her hair! Priorities, huh?
STD's show-runners confirmed in Comic Con that its S2 will start in January 2019, likely a week or two after "The Orville's" own S2 premiere on December 30 '18 http://comicbook.com/startrek/2018/07/20/star-trek-discovery-season-2-premiere-date/
I guess we'll be seeing both shows competing head-to-head for viewers attention after all. The question is: Will Orville's kick STD's butt again this time around?
If anyone has seen the new STD's S2 trailer, not only they seem to have soften the show's theme and tones - bye bye 'dark and gritty' plotlines, more light-hearted/humorous moments, etc. Just look at their elevator scene which was a rip-off from Orville's S1. I guess they're doing this to make it easier to compete with Seth & Co.
Who would win the ratings' war once the New Year rolls in? Can "Orville" prevail over STD to gain Trek's fans attention once again?
Not to enforce a sexist double-standard but Grayson should have at least been reprimanded for her affair. Adultery when it's prejudicial to discipline is a court -martial offense for a reason. The fact that she seemed to demonstrate a lack of character at the time (leaving aside what we later found out) and the fact that her husband, a fellow officer, was so badly affected that he reported for duty drunk six times and had to be put on report is exactly why it's a court-martial offense in the first place. And I'd say the same if it were Mercer. At the start of the series they both should have been on thin ice with regards to their careers.
I am a 3D modelling hobbyist and created a model of the Orville. It was a good challenge because it's all curvy and stuff.
Also see here on Sketchfab where it is available for free download: https://sketchfab.com/models/60170fd125b348349cedeab68f3cca32
Before someone else points it out - yes, I took a bit of artistic licence in places. In my defense, even shots from the actual TV show don't seem 100% consistent.
Hope you like it anyway! :-)
I just noticed a trailer was released for That Other Show, You Know- That One, and it seems to make an allusion at 2m 18s to something familiar.
...It seems like it's ripping off The Orville for some reason, basically. That's weird.
@Comic_Con on Saturday? If so, Jason Roberts @TheOrville Unit Production Manager, will be walking around with a backpack of goodies and props from the show! If you find him & are in costume, or some #TheOrville gear he will give you a limited edition Orville item and let you see and pose with the props! #Orville
