Very impressive to see the and be reminded of the clear vision and conviction of all the x-holders!

Forget the BS, this is bottom line skin in the game.

The market had dropped considerably and the bear market is in full steam and yet x-holders have only lost around 10% of weak hands (probably even less as many just consolidated multiple eth addresses), so 90+% of x-holders are unmoved by the whales trying to shake their hands.

This is the ultimate test and constitutes proof to Sunny and the entire VeChain team that we are here for the long haul and believe in Sunny and the VeChain team, their partnerships, vision and road map.

I for one believe VeThor generation and usage will be slow at first, but as we get closer and closer to the end of 2018 we will begin to see a major shift and the decoupling of $VET from $BTC as VeThor usage grows exponentially and holders continue to restake their VeThor into additional $VET.

Stay strong as the future is bright... Godspeed to all VETerans!!!

Rereading whitepaper and would love some clarification on something. Page 20 describes categories of voting - with 5,000,000 VET for Individual Smart Contract Owners and 15,000,000 for Enterprise Smart Contract Owners...

What does this exactly mean? That any individual or enterprise looking to write and utilize smart contracts on the VeChain platform would need to hold at least this amount of VET (or conversely, purchase same amount of said VET Thor)? Or is there another meaning for these descriptors? If former, that's telling to us how much investment, outside of the strategic ones, all companies will be making to be part of this platform!

Thanks for any insight you all have!

I’ve been somewhat following Vechain for some time and I’m impressed with the partnerships. However I don’t fully understand what makes Vechain unique and how it could disturb traditional markets and enhance human life.

Firstly I would advise you to read the text before jumping to the links. I will prompt what document to open and when. And I am no economist, I'm just putting together my understanding of how a two token system could operate.

As a company you are happy to rent space (Thor) in the VeChain Ecosystem. Your not necessarily interested in staking VET, you just want Thor to make your transactions on the VeChainThor Blockchain.

I’ve set it up so that a business wants to run 150,000 transactions on the blockchain. I run a test with the Thor generation rate that we know (0.000432), then I increase and decrease this rate while at the same time increasing and decreasing VET and Thor value respectively. This is done to account for market demand.

The supply of Thor is unlimited and generated at a controlled rate set by the VeChain Foundation. This in turn controls the value of the token while at the same time allows you to monitor the rate of expenditure. This is done through the 70% burn rate and the 30% that goes to the Authority Nodes.

If people hold Thor, the value decreases as supply increases. Thor is designed to be spent. VET drives the market value and Thor reacts to its movements. The more Thor circulating (burnt) in the ecosystem the greater the value of VET.

As a business you know the price of each token because they are designed to stay relatively stable to one another. All you need to work out is how many transaction you will require and if it’s viable to stake your own VET to generate Thor, or to purchase Thor in order to utilize the blockchain. Thus allowing you to budget for blockchain solutions.

Given the first example, where Thor is half the price of VET, we can see that $114,156 worth of VET needs to be purchased and staked in order to generate enough Thor to power 150,000 transactions in a year. At the same time we can see that a $9,000 purchase of Thor will permit 150,000 transactions per year.

The process can be repeated for a higher/lower generation rate as well as a higher/lower VET & Thor value.

To simplify this model:

 ‣ $100 produces $1 a day.

 ‣ $100 produces $0.50 a day but you can make two (2) of them.

 ‣ $100 produces $2 every second day. You can make half now and half later or you can wait a day and receive the whole sum.

That $100 is used in your business for office supplies. You bought a printer and people pay for its service. This gives you the scenario where X, Y & Z will print 12 documents each day and those 12 documents will amount to $1. As a business you are happy. The market demanded $100 for the printer and each day that printer is making you $1, which you knew because you calculate the cost of each print.

The process is repeated a number of times to show that the model can remain consistent and cost can be calculated.

Open VeChain Transactions 1 & VeChain Transactions 2

Given this model we can also calculate our ROI as well as the number of tokens an investor with 900,000 tokens (post split) can purchase by using their Thor.

Open VeChain ROI 1, VeChain ROI 2 & VeChain - Thor into VET

The figures are my own and have been used to show that the transaction cost can remain stable while the price of VET and Thor may vary depending on market demand.

I could even see the transaction cost being too high and can alter it to $0.01 with a $0.01 fee, or even minus the fee all together. All this does is increase/decrease the total number of transactions. Again, all you have to do is work out your transactions and you have a stable two token system.

Bit of fun with the numbers.

Open VeChain $0.1 - $0.003125 & VeChain $50 - $1000

I haven’t run calcs or even estimated how many transaction will be made on the VeChainThor Ecosystem once it goes live but price predictions are always fun.

EOY (December/January '18/19)

  VET = $0.50

  Thor = $0.25

To make things affordable and if we are to have a fiat based currency and a cryptocurrency work together I think a $2 VET & $1 Thor is a good balance for business' to adopt the technology and for 'early' investors to come into the market and reap the benefits. After the first couple of years, when adoption has taken place on a large scale (world wide acceptance) and the everyday person has had the opportunity to invest into blockchain or continue thinking its a gimmick, then the price may rocket.

But this is crypto and anything can happen.

Lay down your comments and feedback

Regards,

PZ_

Hey friendly community. Do we have a list of confirmed ICOs floating around out there? If not I’d love to get a list going. If so just point me to it :)
