Greetings, /r/astrophotography! Welcome to our Weekly Ask Anything Thread, also known as WAAT?
The purpose of WAATs is very simple : To welcome ANY user to ask ANY AP related question, regardless of how "silly" or "simple" he/she may think it is. It doesn't matter if the information is already in the FAQ, or in another thread, or available on another site. The point isn't to send folks elsewhere...it's to remove any possible barrier OP may perceive to asking his or her question.
Here's how it works :
Don't forget to "Sort by New" to see what needs answering! :)
as a follow-up to my previous article Starting with Astrophotography: Equipment Tiers I finally managed, after weeks of compiling data, peer review and writing, to finish the second part of the series which contains a lot of various equipment suggestions.
So without further ado, you can find the article here: Starting with Astrophotography Part 2: Equipment Suggestions
This article is meant as a guideline for absolute beginners and covers equipment from absolutely starting with nothing to a full blown Astrophotography setup in small steps. The next and last follow-up in the series will be "Capturing and Processing your first Astrophoto".
Please note that I don't get any monetary benefit from writing up those articles, my site has no ads, will never have any and doesn't contain affiliate links.
What do you think about this article? Does it leave any glaring holes open? Can it help you to paint a picture how much to pay, what way to go and how to approximately proceed?
If you have questions or suggestions just drop a comment here, write me a [mail](mailto:firstname.lastname@example.org) or drop by in the official /r/astrophotography Discord where you will find lots of knowledgeable people (also myself) that will help you out getting started in the world of Astrophotography!
