Well if your cat adopts a cat it’s permanent

My cat Percy did this with a 3 month old kitten. We obviously kept him and named him Gus. He (Gus) unfortunately passed away in January and Percy has been so emotional since he died. A few weeks ago another young male cat has been hanging around and him and Percy are friendly. We’ve named the new one Russ.

It’s all weird because Percy doesn’t not get along with the other male cats in the neighbourhood. He seems to have a thing for strays. Both Gus and Russ weren’t fixed when we’ve found them, but they were both immediately really friendly.

You cats look lovely and I’m glad they found each other.

It's as if he knows the other cats have a good life and the strays are at the bottom of the food chain.

Fixed is such a weird term for neutering, shouldn't it be unfixed?

My cat Louis did this with some kittens that were without a mom or dad. He raised them and trained them. Suddenly I had 4 cats. One would think that mostly female cats would behave like that but he was like the sweetest male cat ever. I miss my cats.

level 2

I had a big fat cat named Oliver that did this. He was a nautered male and he was SO lazy, but he loved babies 💜 he raised quite a few litters of kittens. We lived out in the country and we'd find whole litters that people had dumped :(

I'm not seeing a stray in this picture.

Your cat adopted a cat! Cute.

Our female cat would bring home young male cats. We called her a cougar when she was older and still doing it

level 1

Yay! You HAVE to keep him. They are such good friends.

level 1

Congrats on your new family member! Get her fixed (you don’t want more kittens on your property in a few months) and then you and your cat can love her as your own, forever!

Feed a cat gain a cat

level 3

That's why you gotta fix a cat! :D

People in the rescue world despise "feeder-breeders". They just make me really sad, because their hearts start out, and often stay, in the right place, and because they are so often little, old, slightly batty old people with limited mobility and limited income . my heart aches for everyone to have cheap, easy access to a tnr vet, and that cities went out of their way to help folks humanely control the number of cats in their backyard colonies.

for real, i think i read somewhere that kittens can have kittens at like 6 months or something. probably suuuper illegal in cat-land, but there's no enforcement.

level 3

More like 3 months. Truly disturbing.

level 4

It is. I took in a pair of sisters for tnr a few years back, each were 11 weeks old, and the vet said they were both in heat. :( made the recovery of one extra hard, I felt so bad for her).

level 1

That’s a very nice grandcat you’ve got.

level 1

Espeon and Umbreon.

level 1

U 2 Cats :D

level 1

Which one is the stray?

level 1

OMG. I have a cat named Marvin that looks like the grey and white. And Lou, which just happens to be black kitty. They are brothers. I thought you catnapped my critters.

level 1

My cat would co-exist with the local barn cats but he never got close like this. I had often wished he would have.

My mom's female German Sheppard does that too! She's totally adopted the kitten and they look alike too.

This is going to sound weird, but literally two stray cats that look EXACTLY like this have appeared in my yard as well.

Freaky.

Wait why is the black one hovering

Please spay and neuter your pets! While your newborn pets are cute, failing to do this allows your little darlings to add to the population of homeless animals. Adopt pets from your local animal rescues/shelters, there are plenty of animals just waiting for a home.
