Calling someone a 'LARPer' is acceptable as opposed to a 'Shill', because the former does not imply corporate or government interests.

What are the definitions of each ?

level 1

Calling someone a LARPer is usually because they are saying outrageous things and making no attempt to back up what they are saying. I think its okay to call someone a LARPer in this case if you make it clear that you are doing it for that reason, because there is literally nothing else to be said to those people.

Calling someone a shill is usually done to discredit or distract from a dissenting opinion. It's not a substantial criticism and could apply to literally anyone with a differing opinion. Its a waste of time and a distraction.

What happens when someone LARPs as a shill?

level 3

People actually do this to try and fire each other up, I've seen it especially on /pol/. Its amazing how shamelessly they throw themselves into their fantasy world
