Be nice to each other. We enforce reddiquete as a rule here. Reddiquette Do not call other user's food shit, nasty, disgusting, etc. Don't like it? Move along. There are tens of thousands more images to choose from.
Only food-related posts are allowed. Do not post in response to other posts, or to inflame. No sexual crudeness, crude talk about feces, bowel movements, etc ( sheesh, we really have to explain this??). No comments, like diabetes, diabeetus, etc. No memes or social media anywhere, including IG, FB, twitter, etc. 2 posts per day, per user. Most YOUTUBE LINKS ARE NOT ALLOWED. Video links in the comments are heavily scrutinized, must be solely relevant to the food and must abide by the self promotion/spam guidelines, whatever the source. We only allow official YT channels, celebrity chef cooking channels and otherwise approved channels. No surveys, links to surveys, Kickstarter mentions or asking for help with research classes, including requests for money.
No overt blogspam. We follow the 1/10 rule and encourage users to read the SPAM guidelines as well as the Self Promotion Guidelines. We do not allow blogs, at all, in any form. This rule includes posts or comments, links embedded in imgur descriptions, watermarks on images, linking to blog sites, including wordpress and blogspot and any other form of redirect links, domains or otherwise excessive self promotion.
Use np.reddit.com links when linking to other subs or to this one. We do not allow brigade voting and will remove users for it.
Please make your titles descriptive and just about the food. Posts with titles that do not describe the link contents will be removed without notice. Do not make posts that are a response to another post. Do not use phrases like "I see your and raise you", "I see you like...", "I heard you like...", "tried my hand at...", "From scratch", "had a go at..."etc. Just describe the food, please. We want to know what the food is, not where it was eaten, why it was made, how it was made or eaten or when it was made/eaten. Locations are not relevant and subject for removal. If you are going to post a compilation album, you must describe the first three ingredients. We have flair for GF, Keto, Vegan and Vegetarian dishes, so use that flair instead of in the title.
REQUIRED USE of tags for links. We heavily encourage users to post Original Content. Use the [Homemade] tag for food you made, or experienced and photographed. Use [I ate] tag for food you went out and purchased, like at a restaurant, cafe, food truck, etc. You did not eat this at home. Use [Pro/chef] for food that you made, and you are in the food industry as a photographer, chef, baker, etc. We have special flair for repeat posts of [Pro/chef] users.To eliminate the return of spam, reposts and encourage OC, users may post one (1) non-OC image for every four (4) OC images of food. Use [Misc] for Discussion, editorials and approved host links that do not fit one of the other tags. TEXT or SELF posts are considered [OC] and do not need tags. Do not use other tags than the ones listed.
No politics. No dietary activism.
If you see a violation of these rules, report it. We will act swiftly.
Mods may remove any post, comment or user, if the post, comment or user is deemed detrimental to the community.
New users accounts are filtered. There is a small threshold of karma and age requirement before being allowed to post freely. Send us a link to your post for approval. This is usually done once per account. Beyond that, we request that you build up your karma before posting again.
