There are not as many males as females. More boys than women are born. And women survive to an older age.

They make a very common mistake in this video which is a shame.

"Survival of the fittest" doesn't mean strongest or healthiest. "Fittest" means most suitable/best fit for the environment in which it exists , therefore increasing likelihood to survive

They define it in the video as most successful at passing genes along. I don't think there's any point where they make the mistake you are saying.
