I’ve heard in the past (too lazy to sauce) that an incubus and succubus were technically the same being. A succubus would lie with a priest and collect his seed, so to speak, then turn into an incubus to lie with and impregnate a nun. That was how a nun could have a baby that just so happens to look just like a priest when both people are supposed to be celibate. Obviously that’s the only way it could happen!

Sex demons: never around when you want one.

In 1997 some marketing genius at Reebok decided that a great name for a new woman's shoe would be the Incubus. They had to pull them all off of the shelves and apologize.

I wore an incubus shirt to work that I got at their concert recently, and someone asked me what an incubus was. I've been listening to them since the early 2000s and I had no idea until today.

Funny. Incubo in Italian = nightmare and I am positive it's origin comes from latin.

and Succube in Italia = succubus

Yeah, well, I won't ask how you found that one out.

One of the things I find interesting is that the origin of the words 'succubus' and 'incubus' are the latin words 'succubare' (meaning 'to lie under') and incubare (meaning 'to lie upon').
