It is a pretty sweet life though. Do you really blame them?

No. I blame colonizing powers, media and marketing for brainwashing them into thinking they are inferior to Westerns and mass consumption will make them happier.

That's not really honest.

If you give a person an option to have meat every meal, most people will say yes. If you give a person an option to have their own car and the convenience of going anywhere they want while they sit in comfort, most people will say yes. If you give a person an option to have a climate controlled home that keeps out all the bugs, and laundry machines that wash and dry their clothes with minimal effort, and a kitchen that cooks their food without having to burn wood... again, most people will say yes.

It's not only that they are copying western lifestyles for stylistic and cultural reasons, it's also that it's objectively a more comfortable life.
