With these prices no kind of benchmarks will make me buy anything other than the 2070, and even that is a stretch right now.

Preach it brother. I was so ready to jump in a bandwagoon but not for this price even 2070 seems bit of a stretch. Benefits doesn't match the price.

But we don’t know the benefits just yet?

What benefits can it have? Unless it blows me everytime I play a game raytracing is just a marketing gimmick atm. Maybe when it becomes mainstream I can get it but I feel like we have years to get to that level

Dude for 300k it's always a lottery no matter which car you get. Just do the chrisfix inspection and see how it drives. 300k is kinda pushing it.

Has anyone else had an issue with Google Maps? As soon as I plug my phone in, the GPS goes crazy and thinks I'm going the wrong direction. The problem is unique to Google maps because Waze still works

There is a fix on this version. You would have to select the fix compass option while doing the Android auto hack, or you can also just remove your Nav sd card

If you have Android phone just hack in or wait till AA is officially implemented by mazda. Google maps and waze is a game changer.

If not you're still better off with a nice phone mount.

Original Poster2 points · 20 hours ago

I’m not an Android user, but is Google maps a better system than the mazda nav? Is it even worth my time to try to DIY nav install?

Yup Google maps is million times better as Mazda(Navteq) one is not updated with the current road work, and has a terrible prediction. It made me drive thru a fire fighter access road thru a mountain road with gravel and mud only to get back on to the same highway, instead me of keep driving on the highway. It's also super shit when it comes down to private roads as I once got stuck in someone's field.

That being said I too have and SD card just incase but I made my own SD card vs spend 100 bucks for it (I don't condone it, but it's a free real estate).

Actually seeing as they are all tethered, means probably few fell as now they require tearhers.

Thanks, buddy. Right now, definitely preservation. I'm thinking window tint in the future. Wouldn't mind making it sporty sometime down the road too. Any and all links would be appreciated.

Well side bar is your friend. There is tons of links and how to guides there.

If you have an android phone you can easily install Android auto, by far the best interior upgrade for free.

As far as the preservation

  • tint

  • clear bra for the front area (super important if you are highway driving, mazda's paint is thin and it chips a lot),

  • scothguard if you camp a lot or have kids(it's like 5 buck in any Walmart) takes 30 min to do the entire car.

  • 303 interior cleaner is the best and most protective cleaner for the interior (by far my favorite) there is a learning curve as you have to once vipe it and dry it with another cloth for the best result.

  • if you got some money burning a hole in you pocket I would recommend, all weather floor mats they are 80 bucks on Amazon. And sunshade for 50

All I can think as far as the preservation. Just don't mess with the stock air intake as OEM is the best one to have

Original Poster1 point · 1 day ago

Shit. Didn't even think to check the sidebar. Scotchguard, 303, and shade are in the Amazon cart. Luckily, dealer threw in the all weather mats for me.

One of the few complaints I have about the 3 is the brakes. I think I test drove 5-6 of them and only 1 had really good brakes. Whether they were aftermarket, I don't know. Doubt it, but it's possible. Feels like I have to press down much harder than my old Fiesta to stop. Even at a stoplight, it feels like I have to put an abnormal amount of weight on the brake pedal to stay stopped. I'm reading conflicting things about whether the rotors are worth being replaced on a car like the 3. I think replacing the pads would be a good first DIY project. Have you replaced your pads?

Yeah brakes are shit, they feel spongy, check the level of the brake fluid if it needs to be topped off top it off (usually helps) to make them feel bit better. When it's time to change, change it with ceramics as OE's are shit (their is few cheap but fantastic brakes out there for this Gen) . Here is the after math of some serious driving with OE brakes(last pic on the album)

You can do a visual inspection on the rotors, but I feel like the entire problem is with the brakes, tons of people told me changing the brakes solved their issue (I complained a lot about this issue). I'm still in my OE's and probably will replace them around 40 (I'm around 32k).

Changing the brakes are as easy as the other cars but you will need a specialized tool however every autoparts store rent them for around 10 bucks. There are plenty of YT videos about it.

Since we're on the sporty bits talk, first of all you're stuck with 155 for a while (FI kits are expensive at the moment but will come down in price soon enough). To amplify your 155hp there are few things you can do

  • Know how to drive your car, if you have the 2.0 engine your car peaks at 6k for both torque and hp. So higher you stay on the rev line better the throttle response will be. Sweet spot is between 2nd and 3rd gear between 4.5k to 6.2k rpm for quick response. But usually don't be afraid to stay in higher rpm ranges, as 2.0 is the same engine as the miata ones and they love to be revved (when they are warm)

  • Premium gas. although people say it's a myth, for skyactiv engines 93 octane actually makes more power (proven dyno results by AAA will link bit later), it also improves MPG (I'm serious for this engine 93 works). That being said Regular gas is also perfectly fine.

  • Tires, for some magical reason 18 inch tires feel the sharpest, and best on spirited driving, can't believe I'm saying this but getting 18inch tires with light rims will improve your driving 100%

  • Rear sway bars (I can link the good one bit later as I'm on mobile)

  • Tho it's not that neccerery you can get a Megan sway bar for 88 bucks or corksport/James brson(they look bit better but function almost the same)

  • OV tune. So far they are one of the few gen3 tuners it costs around 500-600 for 20-30hp extra I personally don't need it so I don't have it in mine but some people claim it changes the whole car (doubt it)

  • oil catch can from james baron if drive hard and spirited

So far this is my list for sporty bits.

For this car most expensive stuff is not always the answer. For this car parts are so cheap. We have plenty of vendors who makes really good stuff for cheap so don't be afraid of the ask us or search around a bit (via subreddit or mazda3revolution) For example there are some eBay no name rear sway bar producer that makes top notch stuff for 1/4th of the after market one.

Also I would highly recommend you read the Owners manual and if you wanna know more about your car you can also read(glance over) the 2014+ repair manual on the side bar, surprisingly fun read.

I'm not sure if you seen it or not, but we have subreddit snoo decal (check it out they are on the side bar right below rubreddit info box), if you send me your shipping info via PM I'll send you one free as a welcome to the subreddit gift.

I hope my ramblings can help you out bit more. Enjoy your new kick ass car.

It’s weird to me how the sedan is cheaper in some markets - it’s the same as the sedan in mine.

Also here (NZ) only the hatch is available with the manual which I wanted and it’s slightly shorter which is good for parking.

Original Poster1 point · 1 day ago

Sedan is roughly 2-4k cheaper in the US. It's how it goes in here tho, anything that is not sedan gets a price hike. Shame you guys dont have the manual hatch.

We do have the manual hatch, no manual sedan models though.

Sorry forgot, It is a 2015 Mazda 3 I sport Hatch Back. No they already did the work on it so I could not ask them without paying them more to fix this lights and make them level. I would prefer to do it myself so I can save a bit of money seeing that they will charge me $60.

Okay in that case what you need is a long screwdriver (Philips). There should be a alignment hole where you can adjust the height of your headlamps. I'm not 100% if this also adjust your daylight too but that's essentially how you adjust lowbeams. Also it is normal for one light to be higher than the other, that's how it supposed to work.

Hi welcome to the r/Mazda3, just to let you know proper abbreviation for mazda is mz3 or ms3(for speed variant). Please repost it with the proper title.

Thanks r/Mazda3 mods.

The tire pressure sensors are attached to the valve stems on the wheels. You need to do nothing.

OP has a gen3 which is a ABS based tire pressure monitor. In any case he dosent even need the valse stem gauges.

What does this mean?

It means that if you have Gen 3 you don't have to worry about the tire you put on it as it measures the difference between your tire. So no need to pay for tpms as tire is already self measuring.

Tldr: it self measures it.

Mazda recently cracked down on the firmware by handing out takedowns like a candy. They do exist but might be a bit of a research. You guys should check out Mazda3revolution for better info

Did they? That sucks, it's so simple to do yourself why not make it easier for people who want to do their own work. You'd think they'd at least offer links on the official website to access the firmware.

This is strategic by mazda. They are trying to get a head of us playing around with their infotainment system. Hence forced free software updates updating people's cars to lock the USB(suckas thought they were smart). I personally believe they are doing this so they don't get in the news and known as car that got hacked(could be a legal push from their lawyers to cover their asses). They are also obviously upset about free AA and mods. Based on EU pricing I'm guessing it will be somewhere between 300-600 usd each and updating 10+ cars will bring them a lot of money. While us thinkerers will be able to buy the USB hub assembly and do it ourselfs.

If you have Android and don't have bluetooth issues stay with this build and don't even get the Mazda update. You will loose more with Mazda supported one than AIO(surprisingly AIO is updated very frequently and we now have wifi support which the regular Mazda won't have). Long live crowd sported software.

My best guess is that it will be exactly how AIO is. Because AIO is actually pretty up to date. You can change contrast and backlight settings of your cmu in the settings

Your post is removed due to incorrect abbreviation. Proper abbreviation for Mazda 3 is Mz3 and MS3 for the speed variant. Please feel free to repost it with the correct title

Try OV tuning, they are usually the most recommended for gen3. There is a link to their website on the side bar.

I have Android Auto and it's free and I have a bunch of Addon's like a video player they can keep there crappy update.

Yup, From what i seen 2 weeks after the official US release we'll be able to hack it in for fraction of a cost.

Presumably the official implementation is going to look for the upgraded USB ports though? Ie. its not going to be just a case of sourcing and applying a firmware update.

Yeah but you can buy just the part and upgrade your firmware to 70. Not a huge job

na dude you're good. Its a mistake but a welcomed one. Thanks for posting.

How did this economical down turn effected you (or will effect)?

Bu kriz sizleri nasil etkiledi?

It all depends on where they ship you off to. Some of us got lucky and worked in Military Summer Camps (for retirees and such) and some us got shipped of to Sirnak. Making friends is kinda easy as they are all you got and they quickly become your family. It has its ups and downs depending on your situation. It is rigorous in the beginning but it gets easier as time moves on.

Typical day starts with training/exercise and depending on your post you do various things (from being a driver to watch guard).

One loaf of ekmek is 1.5-2 lira. A kilo of ground beef should be 70+, I don't keep track of things I don't buy

Just in comparison one loaf of ciabatta bread (similar to Turkish ekmek) is 2.5 usd over here.

I whish there was a way of helping you guys over there.

Thank you so much best of luck to you guys.

The more gold you buy the higher the price for both the USD and gold climbs. Down with the economy if you don't like the current regime, it's the ONLY chance for regime change

Yeah I'm in the US and our gold prices haven't changed much, I dunno how much of a help it would be for me to buy gold here. Tho I am going to be buying 10k-50k usd worth of TL to buy land in Aegean coast(as an investment summer home) once the market settles and tourism season is over. I'm kinda betting on economy improving. We'll see.

Yup I'm with this guy wax it polish, push it out and put a band aid sticker. New bumper plus paint and paint correction you're looking into possibly 500-1000 usd.

You won't get a paint match on a pre-painted bumper, regardless of what anyone says. Either you'll spend the bucks to get it done perfectly or spent to get it done poorly which will be no better than just slapping on a bandaid.

Yep you're 100% right but I didnt wanna argue with anyone over this so I just let it go.
