As long as smokers sign away their right to having children in the house, or being treated at a hospital for anything related to their smoking - Go right on ahead.

I mean, there's no reason why you shouldn't let your 14 year old play COD multiplayer with his/her friends. Be a responsible parent, take an interest, get to know your kids hobbies, and make calls accordingly. Going by the label on the box is the lowest amount of interest possible, outside of just straight up buying it without looking at the box.

Did you even read the post ? lmao

Well sure but getting a boost of a few thousand Taiwanese viewers because their hometown hero is having the run of his career probably played a pretty big role.

No... the average viewers of this event was literally 10k+ higher than the last. It was insane.

Why is it always sc2 that needs to fund this. Seatstory never needs to be on the front page of hearthstone begging for money.

15 points · 18 days ago

Because it's easier to get sponsors for Seatstory than HSC? HSC probably gets fewer viewers, less sponsor interest, and costs more to run.

you guys should really enable the donation messages in the breaks, people would donate more like this i guess

Yeah we need a couch of talent reacting to the donations / talking about HSC highlights.

Genuine question, no flame or anything, but how many people are actually Splyce fans? I feel like for a org that has been relatively successful in general and has likable players, they are still not very popular at all

They have great players in other games. Like Stats!

They support some of the koreans because they would probably deny the invite otherwise because its just too expensive for them.

In the best case the team supports their players and pays for stuff like this.

No real point in a team if they don't even fly you to tournaments.

If the creators of it see this and want to bring it back- set up a patreon and link it please.

I use a Corsair K70, switched from a Blackwidow ultimate a year ago - I wouldn't do it again. I - PERSONALLY really like the clicky feel of the black-widow. I know when I hit stim/inject/storm from the vibration in my finger.

Hey Ed, with Taeja being just 1 series away from qualifying for Code S today, do you think we're going to see him come back to his old level?

Arel was two-and-ten when she received her Gift. For a moment she saw the daylight with new eyes, and when she called out to the clouds they answered back. Arel brought wonder and hope to her thirsty tribe. They loved her for it.

It's hard to tell who's supposed to be telling the story from this. It seems like the storyteller is omnipotent. Since it's clearly not Arel looking back on past events, who's telling the story? It's important to figure out what voice is telling the story, early on. If this is meant to be a cross-section of your writing, which from your comment at the end it seems like it is, then you need to work out who's telling the reader what's going on. For a suspension of disbelief to be possible, your story must be consistent within it's own universe.

The seasons turned and Hudon grew older as he built a home for his people.

Needs rewriting. You're telling us that after Hudon got the gift he was able to protect his people and carve out a place for them to call home. But it more or less reads like you're telling us "Hudon grew older. Hudon built a house."

They were safe from storms and wolves within.

I'd remove this. It's made redundant by the previous sentence. A home would inherently provide safety from wolves and storms.

From plains to mountains, the elders of each tribe came to Hudon's Home and swore loyalty to King Sielyr.

You're jumping too much in your own narrative, having access to more background information than your reader does. The reader has been given no reason for Sielyr to be at Hudon's home, why is it significant that the elders swear their fealty to Sielyr at Hudon's home? Either remove the location or expand on why it's important.

she broke her walking staff I like the imagery.

The people were greatly troubles by her death, for it unnatural. They opened her body, but they could not find the cause of the Blight. The people began to fear.

This needs a rewrite: it sticks out thematically and grammatically.

Menil was two-and-ten when he received the Gift, though by then they had stopped calling it that.

I would rephrase the second part, after gift - it feels clumsy. Possibly: "...though by then it was called by a different name."

Pesari thus did not open his own Gift until...

In the first half of your writing the Gift could be anything, a trait, a power, a sword - now you're establishing that it's a physical, literal gift to be opened. In my opinion, odd choice- it's going to make forming a believable, coherent lore harder than it needs to be.

When the Keeper saw the light of the falling star, he said with sorrow:

I would rewrite after "star...": show don't tell.

Every man and woman in the world heard these words before the Keeper finally set down his burden and found rest.

I don't know if I should read this as everybody literally hearing it, or everyone feeling it, or the words simply being universally true for everyone. You need a rewrite, with a focus on keeping a single consistent narrative. Once you've established the core of your story you can go back and embellish it with other things.

The sun still shines at the dawn of each day. The wind still carries the scent of fresh rain. The trees still grow strong in the forest of my fathers. But no longer do the children of Man receive the Gift.

"In the forest of my fathers" this is the first time it feels like we're approaching the story teller. But while this last sentence is fine, it doesn't make sense when read in the context of the first section, where the story teller is omnipotent and can tell us the intimate feelings of other people.

This is written in the style of what I call 'primitive fantasy', describing the general time period after which it is modeled and a style to the language. Please let me know what you think!

I'm not sure what you mean by, "describing the general time period after which it is modeled" This could be year 200, 1100, 1600, 2000... there's no feel in the text that relates a specific period to me. There also isn't enough flavor for me to say that the language has a style, the lack of dialogue exasperates this.

Hope this helps, Good luck!

Why would you remove a feature that you've already added, that gives players more choice in how they play? What's the point, for whom is this change a positive?!

Different languages maybe?

3 day tournament? Why? I'd be surprised if you get enough players to not have the first match be in the RO4.

What's the prize? Imo. make it coaching or an announcer to avoid smurfs. And try to reach out to a community caster, see if anyone wants to cast it!

Pediatrics- literally everything. But here's some routine ones.

1) If your kid can crawl, walk, or otherwise move around the house that means they can crawl over to where your medication fell on the ground or walk up to the stove and pull that funny looking pot of boiling water down.

2) Co-sleeping. Until you have the opportunity to express the terrible news that their infant has died from a co-sleeping related asphyxia event, you cannot be totally informed regarding this process.

3) Smoking appears to be an every day activity for lots of parents. You are contributing to your child's health in a very bad way. Yes, even if it's "only outside".

4) Buckle your child in. Every time. Infants get rear facing seats in the back seat. Booster seats (after age 4-5) until your kid is 4'9''. It makes the difference between a "level 3 trauma" (where I'm walking toward the trauma bay) and "level 1 trauma" (I'm running toward the trauma bay)

5) Food is an every day activity, right? What you eat is what your child will eat. The behavior you model is the adult your child will grow to develop. If your child is obese it is not because they are picky eaters, it's because you aren't feeding them healthy food.

6) If your child gets on an object with wheels put a helmet on him/her. Every time. We can fix a lot of things. We can't fix traumatic brain injuries.

7) 4-wheelers kill children and adolescents. I love them, too. But it's true.

8) Trampolines break a fair amount of bones every year.

9) Pools and toddlers/young kids don't mix.

10) With all that being said; kids are unbelievably resilient and serious injuries are generally rare. Now that I've scared the shit out of parents please let your child explore the world, go outside, get messy, get dirty, get sick, run and fall, climb and jump. I'm here to help. I'm on your side and we both have the same goal: healthy, happy children.

Otherwise the state is deciding who gets organs based on how well informed they are of opting in.

I don't think that should be the case, and it certainly isn't the case here in Australia.

Even if you're a total cunt who refused to list themsleves as a donor (it's opt-in here) you can still get organs if you need them.

8 points · 1 month ago

But do you, personally - think that sounds like a good thing? John Big Dick doesn't want to contribute to the socialist agenda of big GOV. so he decides to not be an organ donor. When he needs an organ transplant himself, he's still allowed to receive a publicly donated organ. I feel like that's just asking for a scenario where more people opt out of organ donation than people need organs.

2 points · 1 month ago

I would hope that it doesn't come to that. I feel there's a lot of people out there who don't mind who gets their organs, but can't be bothered to sign a form opting in.

I can assure you first hand that in eastern and southern Europe a lot of people are paying good money to get jobs for their kids in in "safe" state jobs, like doctors/teachers/public administration.

It is either pay or be in a right political party at the right time and to a lot of shit for them to earn your safe right for some position.

Anywere where unemployment is big, people will gladly pay to get a safe job.
