Maybe we need a subredit just for promotional materials, and a separate one for discussion. Or maybe we need a separate subredit for each movie.

"let's kill off news by relegating each piece of information to a different subreddit"

It's San Diego Comic Con. It is the single biggest weekend of the year for movie related news/casting/buzz/trailers/posters/etc. Millions of people care about these movies and this is the biggest movie forum in the world. Obviously they will be upvoted. There can be hundreds/thousands of comments within minutes. That's not done by bots lol. Movie trailers/posters aren't just popular on reddit, man. They're pretty big everywhere else too.

Are you seriously asking why a discussion self-post about Kenneth Branragh's Much Ado About Nothing is not as popular as the brand new Aquaman trailer? The only possible answers are 'people love ads' and 'must be bots'?

No, people just like popular things. Sometimes discussions make it to the top, it's not like it never happens either.

Anyone know what the tv equivalent subreddit is for SDCC news?

Uh, r/television lol?

So as far as movies are concerned, today is basically just Aquaman trailer day?

1st one was an awesome surprise (especially seeing that I'm not the biggest fan of the harry potter series). I can't wait to see this one!

I'm actually way more excited for this one than the first one. Seems like there's a lot more at stake.

Johnny Depp is singlehandedly killing my hype for this.

Colin Farrell pls.

It's Netflix's most expense film so far with a $125M budget (although The Irishman will probably pass that when it's all said and done).

Not much info about the movie yet except:

"Reynolds will lead a team of four men and two women on a mission to stop evil. Reynolds plays operative codenamed ‘One’ while Franco will play ‘Six’ if he closes the deal."

My Scorsese Top 5:

  1. The Departed
  2. Goodfellas
  3. Silence
  4. Taxi Driver
  5. Casino

Raging Bull doesn't even make your top five?

I haven't seen it yet.

The Happening.

The trailer and other marketing looks great. I have high hopes.

I think there's too much at stake for Shyamalan to mess this up

The discussion thread /r/movies has anxiously waited 10 years for.

Forreal though, $75M budget feels insanely high for a movie like this.
