This was an incredibly difficult test! Don't let the score fool you. I didn't do that good. Just did well on the 2 main topics, but I bombed the other ones. Thank God for the weighted exam! I firmly believe there were at least 10 questions I had not seen any details about in the 4-5 resources I used to study.

I remember one post mentioning the lab work not being necessary, and I agree with that comment. I used Lammle's book, as well as Odom's. I viewed the CBT vids as well as Stormwind online training, provided by work. I also used Boson exams, which helped a lot, but didn't cover everything, unfortunately. Still a great study tool! I've been a network engineer for 8 years, and most of what I saw in the exam was stuff we don't even use or talk about.

Bottom line, as I posted when I passed ICND1, you are writing a Cisco exam, and that's the hardest part. A few questions, I think could've had 2 acceptable answers.

Having said that, I'm CCNA R&S certified, and satisfied;)

I can answer questions without blowing the NDA if it can help!

How long/how much did you study for this exam?

I can't say I studied very long, but maybe a good month (since icnd1, which I studied for about 2 weeks). Since I work in that field, I didn't need to lab very much, so saved some time. Was mostly reading, re-reading, testing, and re-re-reading vague concepts. Daily, I'd put in 2-3 hours, and weekends, maybe double that. The last week before exam, I tried to spend at least 8 hours/day. Problem is, not sure I could've studied any longer for a better grade. It's just the nature of the exam. You could say the same about icnd1. You can study 3 years, and never get 100%. All I can really say is make sure you know major topics very well (LAN switching, Routing Technologies) and look at Cisco white papers for smaller topics like WAN and infrastructure. Understand Control Plane/Data plane, QoS, pppoe...

I passed ICND1 a month ago with plans to continue on to ICND2 but just couldn’t swallow it. Too boring. I’m currently in the Cyber Ops program instead.

Let's us know how that works out. I wouldn't mind continuing down that path as well!

Was harder than I thought. Royally messed up on Infrastructure services. I was sure I was ready, but for you out there thinking of writing this exam, remember, it's a Cisco exam, and it's tricky. There were many questions where you just had to know. Wasn't logic. Read Lammle's book and a bit of Odom's, but my best tool was Boson exams. On to ICND 2!

Congrats! I would recommend Chris Bryant videos for INCD 2. Great resource / a lot of useful information.

Congrats to you guys, too! How did you find it, and did you find you were ready for it?

No idea, I loved him too. Unfortunate. Still a great band, though.
