Everything east of Bend and The Dalles can be given to Idaho as far as I'm concerned, it basically is Idaho in terms of culture and environment.
No. You can't conclude what someone's race is just by looking at them. And judging by your interaction with the woman, you weren't a jerk at all. Mistaking someone's race isn't a big deal.
Unless you say something you shouldn’t have said...
Source: Have had people say racist shit to me about Black people because they think I’m Indian/Arab.
Well yeah, that's straight up being racist. But if I simply mistaken you as being Indian or Arab, then that isn't racist.
Why Liberal over NDP? What's the marginal difference?
Under the first past the post system, the NDP will never form a majority government in Canada, sadly enough. The Liberal party is the only chance Canada has to stop the conservatives from winning election after election. It is also a major policy of the liberals to look into democratic reform and institute a ranked ballot, which will greatly help the NDP and Greens in the long run. In terms of differences, NDP puts a greater emphasis on social justice and environmental policies, which I like, but with the current voting system in place, they are unlikely to actually materialize their platforms with a majority government. With that said, they have done many great things for Canada as a third party.
NDP got 30% to the Liberals' 19% in 2011? That's an issue that only one center-left party can win, not that it's only Liberals in particular that can win.

Didn't Trudeau break his promise about this now that he's won?
Yes, the Liberals were in a very bad place prior to the 2015 election (especially while Jack Layton was alive), but Justin’s looks and charm brought them back from oblivion. They have a knack for that sort of thing. The conditions have to be just right to break the trend that only liberals can win: a popular NDP leader, an unpopular Liberal leader, and a Conservative leader who is not sufficiently frightening to convince progressives to vote tactically for the liberals. So far this hasn't happened yet, but Alberta of all provinces proved that they can go pretty far with what they have to work with. Hopefully Singh can lay off the Sikh separatism rhetoric before the next election to increase his chances of winning.
Are you talking about not being patriotic or waving your flag outside of sporting events? That isn't hating your country. That's just not being nationalistic, which is perfectly fine in my eyes.
Could be! Maybe you were indeed predestined for eternal hellfire. Seems like kind of a mean thing for god to do. But, if you were predestined for eternal hellfire then it was nice of him to give you this brief break while you live on this beautiful earth.
You should get out more and enjoy things.
Hell yes. Norwegian traditional food is based on a time when we, for some reason, had limited access to fresh meat/fish, and had to cure it in various creative ways, few of which are really good. We freaking drowned fish in lye to keep it from fermenting. Lye, people.
Whereas my favorite food country, Italy, take some fresh this, some fresh that, some herbs and spices maybe, and make fucking great food every single time.
I actually like lutefisk. Especially with some lemon squeezed on it. I'd say Norway has one of the better cuisines among the Nordics. Icelandic cuisine manages to look frightening and Danish cuisine seems to center around pork, pickled fish, and apparently gravy.
You're too harsh with your country's cuisine, Curry is awesome
Tikka masala doesn't scream British cuisine to me quite like beef wellington or a Sunday roast. There is some evidence that it originates in the Punjab region of India and Pakistan.
It sounds good, but its much cheaper to just buy up the eastern sierra and use it's water rights. Like they've been doing for what, 90 years?
But isn't annual snowpack there quickly diminishing and becoming less reliable as a water source? It isn't sustainable.
I've never been there, but from what people online and irl have said about it, racism is more openly accepted as being the cancerous issue that it is, rather than being shoved under the rug like it seems to be in most of the rest of the US. On the other hand, many people there find no issue with having Confederate symbols or statues of Confederate figures out and about instead of placed in a museum where, in my opinion, they should be.
2017 Honda Civic. Slightly less boring than a Corolla, and the mileage and tech features are a nice touch.
