Vertical pitching removes all skill from the position. Terrible idea.

The only truth here is that baseball games have been getting longer and longer over the decades, and things should be done to fix that. Worth pointing out that baseball is addressing this issue.

The government has tanks, rockets, and nuclear bombs. Yes I'm sure your "Assault-style rifles" are all you need to overthrow it.

HebrewStomper 11 points

Why would a country nuke itself? Also why do we assume the entire military would actually fight? It is made up of other people after all.

Measure76 -2 points

Well if you are arguing we could use diplomacy against our own government instead of guns, then I'm with you. But then we don't need the guns anyway.

Four of the top 10 reviewed games on steam are coincidentally Valve-developed titled? SHENANIGANS.

ChaosSpacePerson 6 points

I don't think OG CounterStrike counts as a Valve game.

edit: I guess they own it, but they didn't make it.

Measure76 8 points

Wikipedia tells me Counterstrike was originally developed as a mod for half-life by valve.

Edit: OK, two outside guys who almost immediately became Valve employees anyway.

Against as I don't think this reddit has enough interest to make it worth bothering with changes.

Well, with the Stardew example, the game is deep enough to have lots of fun without min/maxing. Personally I feel the game was designed with the idea that the player would always have access to the stardew wiki though. I don't think that's great.... there should be in-game ways of discovering and storing information on townspeople likes and schedules. But I just play with my smartphone open to the wiki.

I think you guys should just do what you think is best, while engaging with the community when complaints do come up. It's a very difficult balance to strike to make the reddit as great as possible, but I think y'all do a mostly fine job.

My only real complaint is the twitter rule that you have to name the reporter in the title. I'm not sure what purpose this serves in any case, but especially when it's a non-news item, commentary or comedy.

In 2018, the best way to communicate to the replay center involves a box that actually requires an employee to hold it, with analog cords connected to giant headphones? This is what I don't understand.

Measure76 4 points

You want a wired connection so you never run into wifi problems in a critical game situation. Probably want an analog connection too, so that local internet problems can't disrupt any part of the process.

Besides, analog phone calls sound so much better than digital calls. (/grumpyoldman)

Good theory, but if it's true then why didn't Snigdha Poonam bring it up? She's from the area and, I assume, knows the culture well.

If Snigdha Poonam mentions it to Alex, it would definitely be part of the podcast. So I assume she didn't bring it up, because it wasn't a logical assumption on her part.

Paging r/Replyallalex to see if this was mentioned at all behind the scenes.

Measure76 -2 points

I felt like Snigdha was scamming them too. The info she got from the call center was conveniently done in private and impossible to verify.

You can use the event finder in the play index.

So far this year:

1B: 1308 RBI

2B: 883 RBI

3B: 130 RBI

HR: 2181 RBI

Measure76 2 points

The raw number is masked by the fact that singles are more common than doubles are more common than triples... and of course home runs always score at least one so they're off the charts.

It might be more interesting to look at RBI's per single, RBI's per double, ect.

It’s difficult to interpret baseball these days. The stat geeks won’t let you argue. They quote sabermetrics and end all discussion. Is so-and-so a Hall of Famer? The sabermeticians will punch in the numbers and give you, in their mind, a definitive answer.

It’s boring. It’s ruining sports.

No, you're boring and ruin sports.

I never heard that line. The second I saw the moon through the hole in the roof I just laughed and said you brilliant bastards...I should have given it a second more before I fired the portal.

Why would you take a blind person bowling? Sounds like you were doomed to fail from the beginning.

edit: Doesnt anyone know what sarcasm is? Or do I need to include /s everytime? Obviously I know what a blind date is. Ive been on a couple.

Measure76 3 points

If you'd like to know more about blind bowling leagues you can see a website of a nationwide organization here.
