I’m so fucking confused. Is this a running meme or what? At first I thought it was a joke but it seems more and more real. I thought there was just someone else in MiLB who had the same name or something wtf is happening someone please fill me in
Russ has been showing up to the Rangers spring training camp for a few years. He got traded to the Yankees. There's no danger of him actually playing baseball, he just goes to rally the troops and basically do a celebrity appearance.
Just reposting this
/r/Mariners Spotify playlist. Add ur top 3 favorite songs. I don't care about genre, I wanna know what y'all like to listen too If you don't have an account comment or PM and I'll add songs to the playlist
I have spotify but I don't understand how to add a song to your playlist.
AI already have all the technicians they need, and even they will be replaced by AI not long after that. Back in the industrial revolution, increasing productivity worked because what was needed was a lot more product. Now, we have all the product we'll ever need, so productivity gains get eaten up by pocketbooks at the top.
There are no new jobs coming. Workers will be obsolete within another generation at most. You can't just bury your head in the sand and pretend that everything is going to be ok. It is not.
"AI's won't need technicians"
LOLWHAT. That is a fantasy.
Not me, but I'm a pretty new convert. Reply all is my #1 favorite thing right now and I get sad on weeks when they don't publish a new episode.
After working your way through the reply all back catalog, check out TL;DR, a podcast PJ and Alex made before coming to gimlet.
Yes. I had unwarranted hope for our season. I knew it was pointless, but I hoped anyway. But this news is so tiresome because of how much it has happened to us lately. Deflation is great. Why did he wait until spring training to get surgery on it?
Probably assumed it was a bruise or something that would go away.
A couple of notes about 1994
Late in the season, the Kingdome broke down (Tiles fell from the roof into the stands where fans would be sitting hours later)
Due to this, the Mariners went on a permanent road trip. Playing in Tacoma was considered, but the lighting did not meet players union requirements at the time. So we played all of our games in the 'visitor' team parks. I have no idea what the ticket situation was, I assume the crowds were much smaller for the surprise games.
The road trip lasted 20 games. The M's went 1-9 over the first ten games, and 9-1 over the last ten. This late surge actually moved us up in the standings a bit, to where we were only 2 games out of first and climbing fast.
Then, the strike happened to end the season, leaving the question as to whether the M's could have won the division despite not having a home stadium.
Would have made an interesting world series, especially because the repairs to the Kingdome wouldn't have been done in time, and who knows what the league or team would have done. Probably install more lighting in Tacoma quick and play there.
$10m down payment to a fucking extravagance in a city with 3 other professional sports teams and a housing crisis. Funding unbelievable priorities.
Everyone who is ok with this has absolutely no ground to complain about rent, traffic or the homeless.
The era of parks being named after anything other than giant shitstained corporations has come to an end. We have stuff like Yankee Stadium and Dodger Stadium, but there will be no more ever again.
"Seahawks Stadium" existed for a couple of years after it opened. I think you are full of shit. Thanks.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Dipoto. The roster moves are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of SABERMETRICS most of the moves will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Jerry's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his roster - his trades draw heavily from Bill James literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these moves, to realize that they're not just effective- they say something deep about BASEBALL. As a consequence people who dislike Dipoto truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the Masterpiece in Jerry's history with the M's "Failing to sign Otani," which itself is a cryptic reference to Nate Silver's work for Baseball Prospectus. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dipoto's genius unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools... how I pity them. :joy: And yes by the way, I DO have a Seattle Mariners tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- And even they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand.
If a state boundary is based off of a river and that river changes its position, does the state change it's position with the river? What about international boarders? The Nicaragua/Honduras boarder is separated by the Coco River, don't things get complicates when the river changes?
Why the fuck did people think it was okay to declare a river to be the defining point of a state/country?
Try driving it down the road and watch it overheat in 1 minute because the radiator isn’t hooked up or even bolted in, watch the front and rear driveshaft fall to the ground because the caps are missing to the the Ujoints then try and hit the brakes which are apparently are just for show because there aren’t even brake lines.
Also how long will an engine stay in with gravity alone holding it there? Also I bet no steering is really fun, being there is no steering shaft to attach.
Not to mention no bolts holding any of the leaf springs on. Also where is the fuel tank? Not to mention the body is also not held on with bolts or any kind.
