The plat community have been lying to me. I thought they were plat cos I was lucky and they were lagging. One guy assured me I wasn't better so I thought it must be true.

If it's for the consistent player then they don't need the training. I think it's better aimed at the inconsistent player.

I have put so many hours into this game, I can do most things very very well. But this I am confident I will never be able to do. Edit: Just found out you're playing against silvers, not impressed at all now

Now you're 100% GC in disguise

1v1 and solo standard ranks are far lower than they should be, relative to 2v2 and standard. These need recalobrating so that one's skill level is represented by one's rank evenly in all playlists. Reason: a player who is most skilled at 1v1 will have a harder time getting season rewards than a player who is good at 2v2. The top % of players which they have to enter to earn the rank is much different.

Psyonix can change MMR values at any point in the season at will. They could change the amount of people in any playlist to conform to much more aggressive percentage based if they wanted to.

OP is proposing that the top 1% in 1s should match the same rank as the top 1% in 2s because it's intuitive and fair to do that. The current system is unfair to 1v1 and Solo Standard players due to them not matching enough (though Solo Standard is much closer than 1v1).

The fact that there is less people in those playlists is completely meaningless. In fact, it supports OPs point more than you. The more people there are in a playlist, the faster MMR inflates for the entire playerbase. This means over time it becomes easier to reach higher ranks as more MMR is put into the system with a higher population. That means Psyonix would either have to predict the amount of inflation ahead of time, or they would have to constantly adjust the MMR values to maintain roughly the same percentage all season. But Psyonix refuse to adjust MMR values constantly and consistently to match the pace of inflation for some reason.

For a playlist like 1v1 with less population, there is less MMR inflation. Thus the amount of MMR the playerbase collectively has will inflate at a slower speed than 2v2. It's easier to control, and safer to set MMR requirements ahead of time without having to worry about inflation ruining the rank distribution as much.

Or Psyonix could be smart and just makes rank pure percentage dictated in real time so they stop all this nonsense of people shitting on the ranks constantly.

Wow someone else who understands, thank you

I meant to say rising star. But yes I agree. But considering from the matches I lose, 75% of them are by 1 goal and I generally am the better teammate(basing it off more points, which I know doesn't always mean anything) I feel if I could get someone who is diamond 3, it may help me out. Also, it may not necessarily be the teammate that is causing me to lose, but it's also the lack of chemistry. So if I could get someone to play with consistently that is better than me, I could eliminate the chemistry aspect and also learn from someone that is better. Hope that makes more sense.

Yeah sure it's always good to play a lot with one teammate to learn each others playstyle and adapt to it. If you both improve together you'll rank up faster for sure. Try GamerLink for finding teammates.
