Refugees from finnish cuisine
As an American expat living in Helsinki, can confirm. Cost 15 euro for a meal. Was delicious.
Why is this such a huge thing in Asia?
This is from a very popular app called Daoying. In this app, you’re fed user generated 10-30s clips that you can like. The app learns from your likes and feeds you more relevant clips. Everybody knows the clips are scripted. Nobody cares.
This guy with the golden retrievers is super famous on the app. When I first downloaded it, I spent a solid two hours laughing. It’s hilariously fun. Something like half the content in /r/gifs originates there.
It's still odd to me that these (sometimes really badly) scripted gifs turn up so frequently with Asian people in it. It's just painful to watch
Then again Jake Paul is a thing... Ok nevermind
Being scripted is kinda the point. Nobody thinks these are real clips aside from westerners seeing them out of context. Think of it like a user-generated talent show where everyone tries to submit their own 30s segment. Some of the clips are really cool cooking, others are cute babies, and others are comedy.

This is the difference between large corporations and shitty little Mom & Pop scams. The Mom & Pop hear a journalist wants an interview with them and they'll jump at the opportunity for free publicity with little idea as to what it's about. A PR person for a corporation will get their publicity otherwise and leave an investigative journalist with "no comment, we don't have any openings in the schedule, plus I really gotta poop, like right now."
When a company screws up, best thing to do is call a press conference. Alert the media and you control the story. Wait for them to find out, and the story controls you... That's what happened to OJ. https://youtu.be/Wpnp6-_4134?t=1m
Would love to see a Part II on Spices. Without a recipe, I have no idea which spices go where. Would also love to hear your thoughts on which spices I need to go buy those fresh green actual plants, and which ones are fine in the McCormick jars.
Got a spices episode coming up!! And as far as fresh herbs: basil, thyme, rosemary, parsley, sage. Never used the jarred crap for those, unless the nature of the recipe requires dried herbs.
Thanks! Can’t wait for the video!

You know what? If we come across someone with no arms and legs do we bother resusiating them? I mean what kind of quality of life do we have there?
No arms or legs is basically how you exist right now Kevin. You don't do anything.

/u/Majornelson be sure to forward this to the BC team!
They’ve already seen it 😉
Awesome! It’s sadly a bit rare for devs to see positive feedback on the internet. Glad to know they got the well deserved pat on the back.
