Product @ Uber here. Happy to give feedback if there's still a need.

I was a Lyft driver and when there was a big event in the city, they had a driver meet and greet where we got to go get care packages (air fresheners, mints, etc.).

The point of the driver meet and greet was to inform us that there was a big event coming and we should be here to help meet the demand.

Has Uber done anything like this?

Yes. Once a month we meet at undisclosed location, make clay candies, urinate in water bottles and sacrifice a Lyft driver.

What do you guys go over in these monthly driver meetings?

And are these meetings officially held by Uber / is a member from Uber corporate present?

The part in the original thread about the salary really rubbed me the wrong way. It's a sign of how out of touch this sub is. $100,000 as a new college graduate is INSANE, and can give you a FANTASTIC quality of life, no matter where in the country you're living. The fact that there are positions that are EVEN BETTER doesn't mean that that's a garbage offer.

I do think IBM pays new grads below industry avg.

However as an IBM new grad new hire, I gotta say: it's fun to complain but if you bitchin' about how your friends are raking in 200k total comp and you're only getting 115k at IBM and you think you're 200k material, Ok then go interview at Big N and lmk how it goes

Why would Walmart and Target never use AWS, for much the same reason that media companies would avoid Google Cloud.

What is that reason?

What are IBM's competitive advantages in the cloud space?

For example, why would Walmart and Target never use AWS, for much the same reason that media companies would avoid Google Cloud.

What is that reason?
