This is a lie because i wanted to watch John oliver

Hey I really liked the transitions especially the glasses shot. Which my question is si you overlay that reflection in post? Also, to be honest I thought it could have ended better. The ending took me out of it especially the cross dissolve at the end from the build up of cool transitions I think you need a stronger ending.

Yeah its a mix of overlay and in camera effects. Any ideas on how i should end it instead?

Maybe a montage of everything from the reel in a couple seconds. Maybe a cool transition that bring you out to black. I would say either less faces at the end or more. I feel like you went for throwing a couple people at the end and it seemed random

I can't thank you enough for doing this. As the co-founder of a small video streaming startup focused on distributing independent films, Net Neutrality for me is primarily about open and free competition for innovation. This is what has made the Internet great, and our country great, over the past 20 years. It chills me to think that a small group of vertically integrated media/telecom companies have the power to silence the filmmakers that I work with on a daily basis. Consider all the industries facing a similar fate. Without Net Neutrality, the Internet, our only limitless frontier, faces a contraction into worthlessness.

Hey I'm a filmmaker looking for new ways to distribute. How can I learn more about what you do?

Hi reddit,

I've been filming and editing for over 10 years and never experienced this magnitude of equipment failure and am having a hard time dealing with it. I was shooting a masterclass and the got there 2 hours early to make sure the audio would be perfect. We setup a NTG 3 to XLR into Tascam dr60. Also a had a backup zoom h4n. Both of them were recording and I monitored the audio on both checking in periodically throughout the shoot. Lo and behold at the end both of them are dead and after searching the system and card no files were recorded, other than a test we did inbthe begining. I'm very disappointed in myself and am at a loss with what to do. Any advice?

I was doing a voice over on the zoom 4 and was monitoring it, watching it record, turned it off and on and again, bam, gone. Think it must have been a card error and sound likes something similar happened to you. It happens, don’t beat yourself up about it, all you can do is test the kit again

Yeah another thing is I was running off of external phantom which should have saved power on the Tascam. It's disappointing.

Not much you can do when your primary and backup fail at same time. Most don't plan for multiple failures, so don't beat yourself up too much. I do typically throw a microphone on my camera as a fail safe but I've never had to use the audio from it.

Yeah it's frustrating because it's just hard to prevent in the future.

Wasn't Elon working on this?

It’s pretty amazing how smart the writers are. Most of them wrote for the Harvard lampoon
