For Tezos to be the first third generation cryptocurrency that launches, works, and has the developed system of applications that people keep promising and no one has yet delivered.

So as a reddit mod compared to a hacker news mod, there's no way to secretly downweight the votes on a story and make it float down faster. But it's high traffic, high energy times and this story is really confusing because it draws a proper connection of the conspiracy as it exists by using an irrelevant piece of evidence. There's some interesting comments here so I don't want to kill the post but maybe if you see my comment and this is still a top 10 story on the homepage consider downvoting?

I can appreciate your reaction. As soon as I saw your post, I googled, and found patents do expire after 20 years in general. I immediately replied with my findings and my updated thoughts and feelings. If folks feel this was even close to an accidental embellishment, please down vote as you feel necessary. I do feel though it is subjective to call the patent irrelevant. When you look at this war in its entirety, it's a data point that should at least be known.

<3 It's interesting data, but I mean in the weight of overwhelming evidence that Gottlieb is a shill of the opiate industry, this patent is a tiny thing that's mostly an interesting curiosity. There is no way that GSK is gonna sell crystalized mitragynine because it's a bad product compared to kratom leaf.

If the pharma companies did have a kratom related drug ready for market this instant, I think that evidence would probably help us all out.

Dude this is like every hippy dippy alcohol free party in the Bay Area, it's almost hard to get people to show up without booking a really fly band if they don't already care about kratom. Please come!

I'll be on the panel at 9PM talking about kratom pharmacology

Been waiting for someone to articulate this. I had always blamed weed for "making me awkward" around people, but as you point out, it just makes us hyper aware of what already exists - or exacerbates it a touch.

It's a bit of a model for schizophrenia though, that sense of over simulating what others are thinking about you. I need to remember to smoke lotus with cannabis sometimes, lotus is the only pleasant dopamine antagonist I know of and it goes really nicely with cannabis.

Hmm nice call on the lotus. Recommed a good source?

I have no current trusted source, our local herbal stores probably have it though.

I agree, I think the amount that Numerai can mint vs how much it pays in the tournament is a bit out of whack. This is because the secondary market trading activity in Numeraire was unexpected, and the extent to which Numeraire would be burned was also hard to anticipate.

Given the situation we are in today with the ability to mint ~100,000 per week with a hard maximum of 21 million, what would you propose we do? I think there could be a good case to put some of it in a time vault on chain to express the idea that we don't mind locking up the Numeraire that we aren't using. It's hard to know the best policy to go with. I'd appreciate Reddit's feedback on this.

Crypto markets with large founder premines or otherwise disproportionate stakes always seem to respond to controls on supply, it's a supply and demand calculation. So if you signal to the public that your Numeraire is locked, the asset will go up in price.

Ripple was probably the first big token to do this. https://www.coindesk.com/ripple-pledges-lock-14-billion-xrp-cryptocurrency/

In so much as your currency has way more supply than demand, this is the way to bring them into some vague approximation of equilibrium.

In a more idealized world, I want want NMR to also be a tokenized security that reflected ownership in your hedge fund but I understand why that isn't possible in the near future.

Since Thom's ex-partner passed three months ago, it's gotta be True Love Waits. The punchline being, that true love does not wait, because true love doesn't live... it dies. :(

What I think happened -- the first time it was looped, Thom sang but Johnny actually laid down the start and stop of the loop. Then for the second loop, Thom was laying it down, and then he went to stop on his board to stop it, and it wasn't there. "Aw sheeit", confusion, stage tech immediately brings out footboard from stage left, Thom and Johnny conference about what to do (wait for an entire cycle and make the loop twice as long?) and then they keep going but the "Aw Sheeit" kind of messes up Thom's timing. It was really funny there.

like madison square garden??

define "stadium" vs. "arena"

An arena is the venue where basketball or hockey is played, a stadium is where football or soccer or baseball is played. Stadiums can be 3 or 4x larger than arenas.

It sounds like Arab/Israeli pop music if Johnny Greenwood was producing and playing guitar sometimes.

So ABCDEF are all going to be seats ?

1 point · 1 year ago · edited 1 year ago

The seats will all be gone for a GA show there, they'll just be concrete slabs. The cool throne seats at the back of ABCDEF (what I was calling the second tier) will still be there.

1 point · 1 year ago

only those twenty or so throne seats are available to sit in all of A-F. Otherwise A-F is all merged into the GA PIT. 1-10 are the bench slabs.

Do I have that correct? At least that's how it seemed to be during Tame Impala recently.

Yup

Radiohead superfans seem to get really obsessed with being as close as possible to the band but the best seats at the Greek are a bit further back, in my opinion. If you're there by the time doors open at 5PM you should be fine.

I've been working on a company of the form:

  • Step 1: Overturn Gonzales v. Raich and the strong interpretation of the interstate commerce clause
  • Step 2: ??????
  • Step 3: Profit

Essentially I don't think Gonzales v. Raich will stand under the current Supreme Court and overturning it opens up business opportunities in a lot of different areas. So essentially we want to fundraise as an in-practice non-profit that's incorporated as a for profit from people with plans to capitalize on a world with a weakened federal government.

We're in Berkeley California. This is at the half-baked early stage but the concept is getting increasing fully baked and now requires me to assemble a complex network of community effort to actually do this.

Not really looking for anything except conversations with lawyers with opinions about constitutional law and interstate commerce.

Can you speculate about any important cases and their outcomes related to IP, corporate, or technical law, that are likely to come before the Gorsuch Supreme Court?

Another thing, if you delete that thread only to make another as some fucking way to work around the fact you already have a thread about this...I swear to god I will fucking ban you for life from this sub for being a pain in my ass.

Hey, this is super not nice. I appreciate your help actively moderating but we have to set the tone from the top. Can you try and be more nice, even when people don't deserve it?

2 points · 1 year ago · edited 1 year ago

The best sound is at the rising Greek seats (the third tier) in the center. The pit sound isn't great but isn't terrible; the second tier is the best compromise between sound and closeness. Being in the center is the most important thing.

Haha yeah that's the mystical kevin143. Hymder and hugs probably know him along with the other three old school cool guys who are basically my idols. He posted like a month ago but since 7 years ago that legendary fuck has been traveling the universe off the grid...now some in the countryside say he's just a legend, forged over the wrought of men for thousands of years...the force of the light, however, still awaits its destiny, to overcome the evil forces of this world... yo u/kevin143, do you exist you mythical badass?

Oh yeah, and the other three who've actually been rogue for months or years from this sub...I wonder if they have super powers? u/Ingenium13, u/justbrown522, u/LevinKetun for reference. Thy hast so far ascended into thy light they sure as hell won't be seeing this lol.

I'm still here! Running a subreddit community is something that can be a full time job if you want it to. I did that in September when we really really needed it but have taken a bit of a step back cause I can't always put that much time in here.

Ether isn't really intended to be a store of value and just so happens to function as one.

That chart made me laugh out loud

Prediction: If this really is the launchpad for the next bubble, massive backlogs from the 1mb tx limit will cause the next crash (obviously barring bitfinex losing another 120,000 coins).

Corestream shills will downvote this to hell, but you heard it here first folks.

That's caused lots of smallish crashes over the last year. I think there's a decent chance that OKCoin gets hacked or is insolvent and that brings a huge crash.
