I lost one of my favorite earrings, and the boutique I bought it from has no idea where they got them from originally. Anyone know where I could find another pair of these? by krispykrackers in HelpMeFind

They were vintage style, but I have no idea if they were actually vintage or not. They were definitely made to look vintage. I'll check out that section of Etsy, thanks!

Thanks! I scoured the internet, too.

Oh, I'm sure the gemstones aren't real, the earrings were less than $30. I really like them but not to the point where I'd go about having another one made I don't think. I was hoping someone would recognize them from an Etsy artist or something similar.

I already tried a reverse image search, it wasn't helpful. They're about a quarter inch in diameter, antique looking silver, no branding or writing. The boutique was in Orlando where I live, and I even emailed the owner and she said she couldn't remember where they came from.

I was always a full battlemage until I get to the Dark Brotherhood quests. Sneaky archer is just the easiest way to fulfill all of those contracts.

Oh yes, I forgot, rape is perfectly acceptable if it gets you a high paying job. They should really start putting that on the applications, though. These women must have been confused about the hiring process - don't they know that throwing money at one of the most horrifying and damaging experiences of their lives will fix it?

I like the awards shows because they tend to point out fringe movies/shows that I might not otherwise heard about that are actually good. I wouldn't have watched The Grand Budapest Hotel or La La Land the past couple of years if I hadn't heard about them in awards shows, because I probably live under a rock or something since I don't have cable.

What is your most awkward/funniest experience working in healthcare? by dylan2346 in nursing

I had a patient with a brain injury that left him very combative and confused. His wife was very... "involved" in his care and could be very stressful to deal with. I could tell she had a fun streak in her though, but and was just dealing with her stress by blaming nursing staff for everything, we were literally killing her husband by her standards. She was really tough to deal with and we all tiptoed around her.

I was taking care of him one day, being pleasant and giving her constant updates to appease her curiosity. He had a condom cath on and and I'd come in and readjust it once in a while because he liked to cross his right leg over his left, which can easily dislodge the condom cath and drive my CNA crazy. Once, he crossed his left leg over his right (instead of right over left), and she said "Oh yeah, he does that too. He goes both ways."

I said "Shh, he probably doesn't want people to know that." She immediately laughed hard. It was a chance I took and I'm glad I did.

So anything we interacted with gets killed? I thought interaction with a post meant interest and engagement. This is a really weird way to solve a problem. You're forcing users to continue to keep things on their "feed" that they don't deem interesting (since they didn't interact), while taking away anything they considered interesting with and worth interacting with. Won't this make the front page less stagnant but more boring?

and they downvote less

Also, why is downvoting considered unwanted behavior? Downvoting is essential to the core of reddit. There are tons of clickbait articles that get upvoted at first, and then downvoted once they've been vetted thoroughly. Using downvoting as a source of unwanted behavior just seems like a bad use of data.

*ETA - One of the downfalls of the US current political situation is through facebook, where there are no "dislikes" and conspiracy theories run rampant. I hoped reddit would continue to be a place where downvoting would still be utilized as a weapon against that, and a place where conversation was above headlines. That means being able to consider being able to change your mind. Removing posts after reading them once does exactly the opposite, since you can't go back and read opposing viewpoints without jumping through hoops to find the original piece.
