I'm either not eating enough, not sleeping enough, or not studying enough and one of the three interferes with the other two :/

Opinions are ideas, and trying to fight an idea only makes it stronger. The only way to kill an idea is to starve it of attention and to feed a better idea.

For you, this means realizing that reacting to gossip helps reinforce the message behind it. Instead, take the power out of it by doing nothing in defense and then just continuing to be awesome.

Try to keep cool about things. People will notice that you are a chill person and think that the person speaking ill of you is wrong. If they get curious enough to ask you about the situation then you can tell them the simple truth from your perspective. If you keep it short and vitriol -free, then your image is boosted and you "win".

I put "win" in quotes because to do this effectively, you have to realize it's not about beating the other person. It's about being the best you you can be. When you do that then everybody wins, even your detractors.

I just can't visualise this. Say somebody in your workplace tells everybody else you're a massive racist. You're just supposed to not defend yourself?

Common sense eh, the guys had the last 4 of our social and our address. In a few days I’m gonna come here and say I told you so when the wave of AT&T phishes is in the news.

Unfortunately a lot of people fall for this tip but it doesn't mean it's not a common sense tip.

So there's this reaper jerky I absolutely love but if I eat too much (not a whole lot at all) I'll get pretty bad stomach pain.

And if I eat a lot, it'll destroy my mouth. It'll feel dry and I can't taste things as well.

Anyone had this before? Does it go away? The jerky is pretty damn hot. I love the heat, just not the side effects :/

It's so much fun lighting up my face, as long as I'm at home relaxing and it's not temperature hot too.

The reason I'm cutting back is because it wreaks havoc on my stomach and if I go too hot it actually makes my mouth dry and ruins taste :/

Can you reduce any of your expenses? Get another job in addition to your current job?

You don’t want to pity yourself. Don’t break down and cry when you think of what is lacking, fix it. Overweight? Hit the gym. Lonely? Make efforts to bring more social (parties, outings, etc.). I understand that you have a disability, but pitying yourself will only emphasize all the sorrow in your life tenfold. Pick yourself back up and take initiative because no one will do it for you. Get out of your comfort zone and you will grow.

As for shame: don’t give a fuck about what anyone thinks. As long as you’re not harming or bothering anyone, just do you and what makes you happy. If you care about what people think it will crumble you, be independent and powerful in your own way.

I hope this helped!

parties, outings

Just wanna butt in and say parties are NOT the definition of being social, I hate with a passion your typical college party, yet I'm far from antisocial. OP, if you don't like parties, don't force yourself to go unless you think you'll actually enjoy yourself

As for shame: don’t give a fuck about what anyone thinks

seconding this, this is so important

the more i think about it the more i realise that the fear is centered around how long it would take for me to build muscle and i dont know why i get so discouraged when i do

I heard a rumor that they bring them to you straight out of the oven making it difficult. They're hot but not insane, I'd guess painapple is a lot hotter

I did awesome!

The hardest part came near the end, I've started becoming really bored with eating the same microwaved meal prepped food. In general I've been pretty bored, I definitely am going to work on cooking different food that heats up better and that I'm more excited to eat. Also going to buy some cheap fast food once in a while to help.

Small steps, try get a gym contract and start walking on treadmills or riding the bikes. It really, really helps. If anything just to get you out or the house and away from the computer for a bit longer. Then maybe look at tertiary education, there are lots of colleges around that don’t cost a fortune and would take someone that wanted to learn. Business colleges, culinary schools/classes, IT, heck the list can go on.

People that have been out of the world for so long can find it hard to just come back and get a job for the sake of having a job and moving out for the sake of moving out.

So my advice? Invest in yourself. Get fit and get qualified, life will get much easier I promise.

Just want to back this up: Exercise REALLY helps, once you get past the starting phase and get your body used to it.

This was me except I didn't smoke until the very end of my 20s, I rarely drank hard liquor, I lived with my parents until I was 28 (my mother was dying and then dead), all my friends were left behind in graduate school and despite having a Master's degree, I was either unemployed or under-employed. It hasn't really gotten any better.

What degree did you get so I can avoid it?

Hello, I'm a guy with 132pounds and 5.6feet. So I'm very thin and I have always been like that. In the past I had tried to eat more and use some diet but I'm unable to gain more than a couple of pounds. In the past I use to run and play basketball, but nothing serious, I use to be fast, now I'm lost I had the worst condition ever. I use to smoke and that ruin my health, now I'm quitting and trying to do something I want to get in shape, I had never workout in my life, Is there a routine you would recomed to gain some muscle and be more fit? I would love to workout in my apartment, I have plenty of time, also I have access to a gym close but I feel ashamed to go there

Why feel ashamed to go to the gym? Because you're weak? That's why you go there!

It's hard, but try not to give a DAMN what other people think of you
