You could just show up at a southern US border crossing and claim asylum. That'd probably do the trick.

There is also a large Peace symbol just outside the airport, southeast side, above Old Murfreesboro road. My dad used to fly over it a lot during work trips, but I never saw it myself.

Bonus points for a sweet ramp to get some air on the launch into the freezing cold water.

I love Tom Hanks but that was a shitty movie.

In retrospect most 80s t.hanks movies were pretty shitty(...big still holds up personally), but the money pit, splash, Turner and hooch, Dragnet...were still the steps that made him that lovable doof we appreciate today.

As far as the burbs in particular it was a analogy to xenophobic paranoia with our loveable t.hanks sticking up for the misunderstood new guy that was a mass murderer.

*edit- one of my favorite t.hanks scenes is him walking out of the blown up house and smoothly sliding down the porch steps

** aww frack. I liked splash too tbh

Can you bring your own cat with you?

*edit - apparently this is a ridiculous question since it's not addressed in the article or this thread.

I just wanna say though, that self-loathing and Tourette's actually go hand in hand for me.

I have a really bad stutter because of my Tourette's - and when I say really bad, I mean really bad. Like, it can physically painful sometimes, and it will take literal minutes to get out a single sentence.

I can't talk, I can't communicate, I can't tell a joke, I can't use a phone, I can't be a part of a group conversation because by the time I'm able to get the first syllable out, everyone else is already three sentences ahead of me.

Hell, I can't even order my own food sometimes. I know it's stupid, but there's just something dehumanizing about having your friend shout across your lap at the drive-through window because you're not "good enough" to order for yourself.

Luckily my doctor found me a medication that takes the stutter WAY down and I can lead a mostly normal life, but after twenty years of stuttering the damage is done. I have no clue how to hold a conversation because I've never been given the chance to learn, and my confidence has seriously taken a toll as a result.

Sorry for the random rant, the title struck a nerve I guess lol

I didn't know I had a sttuter until I made friends with a bro who did. Call it empaathetic reciprocation. assface I can get out of it sometimes but know the feeling of stumbling when try to articulate in a casual impromptu interaction.

It's like the misquoted mark Twain thing: 'It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt.'

You spoke of meds; are there any mental or physical exercises that have any positive effect by using them?

You’ve walked into a trap.

People here are nice

People on this sub are assholes.

People on this sub are assholes because 500k was NEVER a “budget to keep under” in Nashville until everyone moved here from the coasts.

That said - your ilk are generally welcome here. If you clarify House vs townhome vs expectations on traffic and walkability or such you may get some help from a few of us. (PS walkability is a trick question this city is as walkable as a god damned field of lava.)

Edit: oh hell you did clarify. The usual suspects are- five points or various spots around east Nashville. The West end intersection of the nations around 46th. 12 south/Belmont if you want to go up to your 500 and maybe pass it. Donnelson or Madison if you want to be trailblazers and move to very up and coming (2yrs+) areas. Germantown (good); Buena Vista (Bad).

They totally changed the bit. New one is better in my opinion

If its a red welt bite, run a spoon under hot water and press to the area. Helps resolve the itching.

You can also keep Bounce Dryer sheets in your pockets, hat, etc and that will repel some of the bugs as well.

Tea tree oil, halls coughdrops, peppermint, icyhot, citronella...anything stinky-er than your yummy blood.

Because people work for a living. Sounds like he is doing the right thing... Instead of his dog sitting at home all day he's having someone walk them.

Work for a living = don't have time to care for my dog

Doing the right thing = paying someone else pick up and tend after my dog

Get a plant to be responsible for, or a fish...a cat? Dogs require much more attention and training to be healthy and happy.

So working people are neglecting their animals and should not have it. My wife and I have a kid and a dog and we both work full time...I guess we are awful human beings...

Never stated a judgement on you, your wife, or how your parenting and pet ownership skills should be graded.

My assumption is that OP, without the free time to be there and be responsible for his desired canine; might need to consider other options than taking on a having a dog. Especially one they're not fully prepared to be available to and responsible for it's needs.

But your defensiveness tells me you're trying to do your best. Keep it up.

k you are drunk. just had to make sure. Have you been to the apartments in question. I drive by it weekly. Its not newly gentrified, still the hood. Literally bookended by a pawn shop and a family dollar. Not a nice location at all yet. and probably a bit sketchy at night is an understatement. So many assaults happen just on that block alone. You clearly don't know the area at all
