Hi everyone, I hope you're doing great. The waiting game on the omega patch killed the fun for me, so I quit a month ago. Even so, when I heard that the game was to be shut down, I could not help but to feel a deep sense of loss. I've always heard people speak about COH and SWG with a fiery passion but I've never played those nor had a game shut down on me before, but I think I finally know what it feels like. I'm not good with words so I'll make this short.
I only really started playing the game since the big 10 event last year, but the weekly Midtown Mondays, Wintersday, the anniversary event, Kings County, Lunar New Year and all the movie themed events (Dr Strange, Spiderman, Defenders), were all times spent farming with you lot. I remember all the callouts for br0th3rh00d, s1n6, puny god waves in LFG. I remember linking all our cosmic artifacts and double green insignias in the trade channel. I remember all the banter in social chat ranging from the comics and movies, to the ongoings in real life (politics and gaz/console bashing, a little less fondly), and different people asking every few minutes for an ETA to maintenances a few hours before the servers go down. There were good times and bad times, but I think it takes both to make a complete experience
The atmosphere in the sub is grim, and I know this post is out of place. I do not think myself in the position to judge anyone. But I just wanted to say belatedly for thanksgiving - as someone stationed thousands of miles away from home and hours away from the nearest town, where almost nobody speaks your tongue - that I am grateful to be able to login daily in to familiar faces, and thank you for keeping me company during my loneliest times over the past year.
I do not remember all the people I have grouped/raided with (sorry!), but till our paths cross again: All the folks in the Immortals SG (including DRTakaMudd, TET879, Gizdalin, Dutchmilk, xethor), Omegapaladin, Lukefonfabre, bobovindo, HeyNanners, prinn, Nereira, Jauhl, rewingt, Kikoovet, Crakspider, RightLeft, Drogsil, DDrike, MisterLucifer, Damienhe, Cobaltstar, Radspakr, Twilothunder, Popslutor, Snigenper, AngrySnail, RedHot, GiLiLiff, Chachaly, XellossZan, HelloweenGR, Blindfisch, Ikawn, MutatedArtchii, Ultrin, Chachaly, BeWitchery, RPGFest, Mjoll, GodsFortune, Bieira, giwera
For all whom my memory has failed, I apologise. You may add me on discord at shizu#9143, and I go by the username Shizukesa (or some variant of it) in most games (currently playing Secret World Legends but will probably rotate back to ESO/GW2/FFXIV after I'm done with the story).
Never forget, marvel heroes. I wish all of you and your loved ones health and happiness in the future.
P.S.: Just a suggestion that a mod might want to sticky a post inviting people who want to stay in contact to post their discord/steam handlers and letting others know what they'll be playing next
The largest G bundle (11.5k) seems to be a 23k G bundle in disguise. Store page showed the right amount to be charged, but the paypal page showed double that amount. Clicked "continue" too quickly and was charged double, but also received double the number of Gs. Coupon holders will probably benefit (i.e. you'd receive 23k Gs for $20), but I thought I'd let you guys know that you'd be charged double for the largest G bundle
According to this guide (which was created a long time back in May 2015), one-shots only award a total of 12 (3+3+6) commendations each day no matter which difficulty you do them in.
This seems to have changed now, as I have just realised that you can get the commendations twice (once from normal difficulty, and once from heroic difficulty), for a total of 24 commendations daily (2 x (3+3+6)).
The implication of this is that you are able to now cap on both protector's and heroic commendations without doing raids. With reference to the link above, you would only be able to get 236 heroic and 177 protector's commendations before. Now, you are able to get an extra 84 commendations each, to reach the cap of 250. You will cap even if you skip skrull day
Knowing myself, I'm probably not one of the first to know this. But I might not be the last either, so I thought I'd post this just in case
It costs 100 cake slices but is available for free from an anniversary questline, which takes only 5 minutes to complete (enable global events on your sidebar to track it)
Also, got this from a 5x anniversary lootsplosion if anyone is interested
You do not have to play as Iron Fist to do the achievement requiring you to destroy 2017 breakables (and the one which requires you to kill enemies with the kungfu sequence) for the "Immortal Weapon" title. An easy way to accomplish this title is to 1) play as any hero with a good AOE melee spammable (I recommend Blade with whiplash, talent 3 on row 1), 2) clear fisk tower while spamming an AOE melee attack.
Didn't really want to post this because of the random downvotes I've been seeing, but it painful to see Iron Fists punching stuff in Midtown so I thought I'd so do so anyway. Also if you need the Kungfu artifiact you can PM me ingame to borrow it!
I pulled an Enhanced Lady Deadpool Costume from the blender and I decided I hated how she sounded and looked. So I took it off (while on my crafter with the -% crafting cost synergy) and blended it.
Without a costume on, I should have been returned to my default look, but I am still stuck with the Lady Deadpool look. This issue can be resolved by (i) putting on another costume (but I don't have another, I blended the default as well), (ii) prestiging to get back my default (but I'm already red and I don't want to cosmic prestige him). Basically, I'm stuck looking like a tranny and I hate it
Someone else has the same bug: https://forums.marvelheroes.com/discussion/315610/costume-glitch-assistance-requested. I have put in a ticket but support has not responded for quite a few days, so I thought I'd post this for the benefit of the rest
Have a great day everyone
Edit: Support was able to replace my default costume. Definitely not blending it this time — my time away from it has taught me to appreciate it
Posted this on the official forums, but I was told some people don't have access or don't visit it, so I'm reposting this here.
Hi everyone, I caught Asros on my /social instance yesterday and I thought I'd take the opportunity to pop a few questions. Just posting them here in fairness to everyone and just in case anyone has the same questions as me
Cliffs for those who hate pictures:
"No plans for trade currencies. Insignias, cores, artifacts, all great trade items right now." Question motivated by this thread
Contents of BIF boxes "kind of" decided on generation, "have set seed value when looted" but "what each seed is could change slightly", "not enough to hoard boxes and wait". What I understand from my limited knowledge as an ex backend developer is that an RNG function is called whenever a box is generated, and it is assigned an arbitrary value that corresponds to a particular item. But what this item is could change depending on whether the value associated with it changes. I could be wrong, but this is how I understand it, for those who are less technically savvy
"Maybe down the line" cosmic artifacts will be tradeable 1:1 with each other (i.e. trading one cosmic artifact with another someone else possesses, but not with other items). This was inspired by another MMO I play. The reason why I suggested this was because I realised alot of people were getting those which they didn't need (and even duplicates). People would still have to farm, but would be less subject to the mercies of RNG. Granted, they would have to farm less, but I thought this would be a good middle point to reach
(Not captured in screenshot) Social chat is instanced to prevent overcrowding in 1 instance.
I also asked if there was an update on how cube shards and commendations would become the main currencies, but I received no reply to this - he probably had logged off by then.
Hope this helps somebody. Otherwise, I apologise for the clutter, let this thread sink with time
Tagging /u/Asros. I hope you don't mind that I've posted this here so that everyone may benefit (if at all), please clarify I have wrongly relayed what you intended to convey during our brief exchange (and accept my apologies for it). Many thanks for taking the time to answer our questions!
The exit portal out of Taskmaster's Institute in Chapter 2 will correctly exit into the Cannery and progress the main mission.
Entering the Parking Garage in Chapter 4 will no longer result in being disconnected from the server.
Entering the MGH Factory in Chapter 4 will no longer result in being disconnected from the server.
Costumes will no longer incorrectly have a level requirement if they previously contained a Costume Core that was converted into a Catalyst. All costumes will now be equippable at level 1 as intended.
