hey man, I'm in a similar boat, so you're not alone if that helps you feel any better. Don't get jaded, eventually we'll find someone!

tbh it's not clear that bojack actually did anything wrong at all with penny, he clearly turned down her proposition for sex earlier and then all we see is them (clothed) in the boat together. She could have just been adjusting his tie for all we know.

I think the writers purposefully made it ambiguous so the viewer could draw their own conclusion. They have to walk this line with bojack where he is "really a shitty person", like people in real life, but no not so "actually shitty" that we lose sympathy for him.

From where I'm sitting bojack isn't particularly shitty at all - no more than an average person. So I'm inclined to believe he let himself start to feel attached to penny (questionable, but understandable) but would stop short of actually sleeping with her.

Nope, the writers clearly wanted it as Bojack hooking up with the daughter and then getting caught

Doesn’t right handed mean CB?

CB wasn't a thing when Scott pilgrim came out

I haven't really given movies like this a chance yet, but that scene was absolutely brilliant. Any recommendations on where to start?

Yojimbo is the easiest starting place, it's so good they remade it as Fistful of Dollars. Either that or Rashomon!

Thanks very much. I do think I'm a bit too close to the SM7B, which has the thicker windscreen on at the moment. Presence boost on the SM7B is on, LF rolloff is off. I backed away from the NT1 so I wouldn't have plosive problems (I think the pop filter that comes with it exacerbates its problems), but not so far that I'd be worried about room echo.

I've been relying on the NT1 for a year or so but never liked it as much as the reviews made me think I would. I'm thinking a little distance and some small EQ adjustments will serve me well on the new Shure. Thanks again!

Thanks for doing this, I've been recording on an NT1 for awhile and I've had similar opinions. Glad to see it's not just me having the same thoughts about it!

Honestly beam spam really stops at least my 16. He has no good long range moves and closing the distance can be hard because of that.

5h can punish beams because of armor, you have to call in assists if you want to beam

I imagine this is meaningless to anyone but me, but I just have to share. When I worked at a medium-sized game studio after college, we got into League of Legends. Like, playing during lunch and not stopping until yelled at and staying late to play more with half the studio. Obviously, that was a gateway drug to dunkey and I've been a subscriber ever since. I quit that job with some friends to make games on our own 5 years ago. So, when I saw the one second of Battle Chef Brigade footage as dunkey said "great year for games", I finally felt like maybe quitting a stable job was worth it. Weird that dunkey is the one that made that sink in for me. Post-launch is weird as I orient my life and finally come up for air, but this was great. Thanks, dunkey.

Edit: hah, I guess this wasn't meaningless to everyone else. Thanks so much for all the kind words! I hope 2018 is the year of fulfilled dreams for you all :)

Oh man I loved Battle Chef Brigade! My brother brought his Switch down for the holidays and I enjoyed it so much I beat it before he went back home. Made me stressed in a good way during those later levels!

I see a lot of advice online about normalizing your audio after all the editing to increase the volume at a consistent rate. Could someone record at a higher level and achieve the same results?

For example let's say I record an audition averaging around -6dB. Is it better to record at around -12dB and normalize to -6dB? Or is there even a difference?

Does anyone have good therapist recommendations? My friend is having troubles finding one and wanted to see if I could help by asking /r/Austin. She's looking for someone in the South Austin area or near West Parmer, searching for a general therapist.

Edit: she's looking for a tough love therapist that accepts UnitedHealth Care

You might want to include what kind of therapist your friend is looking for. Someone who delivers "tough love"? Someone more nurturing and gentle? Someone who takes a particular insurance or has a low cash fee?

Thanks, this is all new to me. She wants tough love and someone that takes UnitedHealth? Not sure if they'd list that on their page

Start booking professional gigs as I recently acquired an agent! I'd like to take some acting classes, produce an animation demo before the end of Summer, and start my podcast idea. Biggest goal would be to switch to voiceover for full-time.

They are very archaic JRPGs with random encounters and lots of grinding. They both have interesting stories.

He's asking about Persona 1 & 2 though lol

How? I've been stuck on him for like 3 hours, it's the final phase that fucks me up even if I get there with all 3 HP still intact

When they're in school, by doing their homework and excelling, so they can grow up to be outstanding members of their community, shatter stereotypes, and reduce income inequality by being qualified for high paying jobs. The next protest is when they use their spotless records to run for local office, so they can directly affect their communities, and benefit the nation as a whole.

The asian american community hasn't become the highest wage earning demographic by sitting on its ass. They suffered immense racism, and now are on top.

And yet even when they do all that, some of them get accused of not even being born in America. Seems like no matter what they do, someone will tell them to be silent and stop disturbing the peace.

Oh cool they actually sell these at my local game store! They smell pretty good, I'm just worried about my players knocking them over as they (and I) can be klutzy sometimes lol

What's wrong with episodic? You can still explore the setting with each episode focusing on different parts if they so want

Community's first Subway episode. The head of Subway after listening to an audio tape of Britta and Subway's 'corpo-human' asks someone to hand him his coat since he's sitting down. He continues to ask for it even though he's told it's just by the door. The scene concludes on him refusing to leave.

I only recently realized it was because he had a hard on. I'm a dumbass.

I think your spots could be sped up, personally I think they drag on a bit. Cutting out some of the space between spots would also help. Also, your mic quality is quite muffled which is accented by how clear the music is in comparison. What mic are you using and what's your recording space like?

I'm using a Yeti (the black colored one) and I was recording in the corner of a small closet with the blanket hanging over the corner.

With blankets, make sure they're ruffled like curtains rather than straight, and if you can put some pillows up, they've really helped my sound

Definitely at the end of Petals to the Metal which was the first time Griffin put in music? Really made the emotional scene more impactful. Oh the end of the 11th hour when Magnus is by himself, man was that the perfect music. Because of the way the music ramped up, you knew something big was about to be revealed. Loved how it was a variation of the chalice music also.
