R.I.P. "The Moral Winner", Unknown - 2018

No critiques at all? The new design is repulsive, and has me thinking "Digg 4.0 2.0". I honestly think this site is going down with that redesign, so I'm curious how someone could have such a different opinion.

The new design is a huge waste of space. There's nothing modern about this, unless you're a senior citizen or mobile user that buys into Google's crappy design philosophy.

But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

It doesn't waste much more space than old reddit, as long as you don't use the card view. Yes, the right 40% of the screen is empty if you're viewing a long comment thread and have scrolled past the point where the right sidebar ends, but that is the same as in old reddit.

Err, it wastes so much more space it's not even funny. 40% is a lot, by the way.

pick 5 random songs and listen to the lyrics. It’s become industry standard for rappers to talk about beating women

This is bullshit. You pulled this out of your ass. Show the 20%+ of rap songs with lyrics about hitting/beating women, or edit the post and remove the part where you lie.

It's "Tenacious D" - artist names are stored in a database for rules enforcement and we ask that you not use titles that would circumvent this.

It works on Windows in .05x or 0.1x increments, you just want a high sampling rate so it doesn't skip at odd intervals. I don't think iOS is capable of this though.

Over the past few months, the Audible app has introduced a "home screen" that seems clearly designed as a ridiculous ploy to get you to buy more things. It's insulting.

When I open Audible.com, I love being shown all the available books. When I open the Audible app, I want to be taken to my library immediately. I know what Amazon is doing, it's making the app worse, I don't appreciate it, and I hope they stop soon.

I just want to listen to my books, not have a creeping and sinister feeling that Audible is out to get me slowly through app updates. Just default to the Library View, or make it an option.

The new 'Home Screen' offers less functionality and wastes an incredible amount of space. It makes absolutely no sense, except as a slow transition into showing more content that I don't own, want, or want to see. Keep the advertising out of the app, and keep it on the website where it belongs.

Standard formatting:

For example:

Since this is a cover of John Mayer, we'd prefer you post something else. That said, please avoid posting the same artist multiple times and try to post songs from a variety of artists whenever possible.

Thanks!
