The value of Bitcoin Cash BCH continues to climb exponentially with each new app, feature and merchant but its price remains low. In my experience, price always follows value. When BCH makes its breakout, she is really going to move!

The market will always price-in these gains in value eventually.

I hope so but I can't take your word for it.

Not very trusting.

The OP photo is of a BCH noob making a BCH payment and I took the picture. Since I used my phone to take that picture and my wallet is on my phone, there is the proof of at least one of the other 3 BCH sales I spoke of.

Here is the Bitcoin Cash Only ATM a couple of doors down.

Its great. Vendor adoption. Its what the world needs; digital money that doesn't inflate. I believe BCH can scale. I am not questioning your sincerity.

I am just skeptical. I need more. I want to see credible reports on utility, mass acceptance, widespread community adoption, etc.

In North Queensland you can check out a very active merchant group SatoshiwareNQ that is responsible for educating merchants about the Bitcoin Core menace, helping/supporting merchants in setting up their Bitcoin Cash payment systems, and now rolling out Bitcoin Cash only ATMs to allow locals to participate in the Bitcoin Cash experience. They have hosted BCH meetups, BCH parties and BCH missions to many cities in North Queensland to establish other merchant groups etc.

Their website is a good place to start to overcome your scepticism.

Blockstream/core should have had the integrity to choose a new name for their project if they wanted to change the vision of Bitcoin.

Any rational person would see that Bitcoin Core BTC still trading on the Bitcoin brand is dishonest. It is a settlement experiment now not an electronic cash system. Most merchants and ATMs in North Queensland have given up on BTC and other altcoins completely and are now just Bitcoin Cash only.

Today I got to try North Queensland's Bitcoin-Cash-BCH-only ATM in-the-wild! Superb installation with such a great venue. There was a crowd around the machine discussing Bitcoin Cash and I got to speak with lots of people. I witnessed several transactions before trying the machine for myself and it was clearly fast. If you want to experience commerce at the next level, you must give it a try. If the banks thought they were in trouble with Bitcoin BTC (when it was still electronic cash), they are up against Bitcoin 2.0 BCH now and it is quite a bit more competitive!

After getting some Bitcoin Cash, some of us went to Jaxx coffee shop a couple of doors down. Of note is that Jaxx accept any crypto you like - so long as it's Bitcoin Cash BCH!

Coffee and a donut with new friends and fast Bitcoin Cash 0-conf, what a fantastic experience. I can easily see why these merchants and ATMs in North Queensland are all Bitcoin-Cash-only.

Edit: clarity.

What was wrong with your first post that you needed this one? no offence but is a BS money making ATM with 10-15% upmark. It isnt news worthy let alone two posts. You seem to actually be the owner/friends with the owner aswell. Everyone has a phone to buy BCH nuff said.

What is the source of your 10-15% upmark or is your number simply BS? From what I gather, these machines have little or no margin as they are supporting local Bitcoin-Cash-only merchants.

As I got an opportunity to get up there, I scheduled a visit to check out the Bitcoin-Cash-only ATM and decided to post my impressions. I think currently the 1.7k views doesn't support your "isnt news worthy" BS either and certainly the crowd around the machine when I was there suggests it is more BS from you as well. Maybe there are a lot of Bitcoin-Cash-only ATMs where you come from but I am only aware of some in Hong Kong and now this example in North Queensland which is the first of many here I believe.

Good article with the exception of the last line.

This could be the start of a push towards respecting altcoins at the same level as Bitcoin.

I disagree. It is simply Bitcoin Cash beginning to assert itself as Bitcoin - A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System. Bitcoin Core BTC became irrelevant to merchants after its conversion to a settlement system.

Makes sense. What are the fees for using it?

I'll be up that way tomorrow and will check it out. I tried a prototype unit a couple of weeks ago and it was FAST.

You do know that Bitcoin has exactly the same kind of 0-conf and SPV as Bitcoin Cash?

Contrary to what others are saying, the real problem with 0-conf on BTC is not RBF, it’s the blocksize limit. When traffic ramps up, no one can guarantee when a tx in the mempool will be included in a block. This breaks 0-conf.

blocksize limit... breaks 0-conf

Absolutely correct.

RBF doesn't help though. Merchants can't opt-out of RBF and must reject any customer using RBF or risk having funds stolen when the customer leaves the store. Turning away customers is bad for business. Fortunately it doesn't matter as merchants have moved on from BTC.

You do know that Bitcoin has exactly the same kind of 0-conf and SPV as Bitcoin Cash

Oh please!

Remember the "bitcoin ACCEPTED HERE" sticker merchants once displayed?

Now that blockstream/core added Replace-by-Fee (RBF), merchants must check if a customer has set the RBF flag or risk having the funds stolen with a simple RBF double-spend when the customer leaves the store. For the merchant to accept 0-conf instant transactions, merchants need to warn customers and thus need a:

"bitcoin ACCEPTED HERE BUT NO RBF" sticker.

Well not quite. Putting aside for a moment that a merchant rejecting any customer is bad for business, blockstream/core also instituted artificial congestion with their 1MB blocksize limit. Thus, for the merchant to accept 0-conf, a merchant must examine the customer's TXs fee with respect to the Mempool fee distribution and Mempool size to ensure the TX joins the top 2000 Mempool TXs (those likely to be included in the next block) for an acceptable 0-conf risk. (Note: the customer must also check the Mempool fee distribution and size in order to meet the fee and flag conditions the merchant sets for non-cold-coffee). Merchants then really need to display a:

Now we're good right? Not even close. Even though a merchant can see the customer's TX in the top 2,000 Mempool transactions, at what rate are new TXs joining the Mempool and how likely will the customer's TX be bumped from the set of TX's likely included in the next block? With block time variance thrown in, a merchant can only guess at the likely risk (and I'll leave it up to the reader how such a sticker would be drafted). Luckily it doesn't matter now as the merchants have moved on from BTC in any case.

Bitcoin Cash, uncongested-by-design and free of RBF, need only a:

"Bitcoin Cash ACCEPTED HERE" sticker for a rockin' 0-conf!

It is rather brave to be holding any BTC now that it is no longer an electronic cash system. Off chain scaling also diverts fees away from the miners that secure the BTC network. I don't see any future for Bitcoin Core BTC.

I've heard a lot of good news about bitcoin cash and wanna try this out. Hope it will work-out for me.

I'm a big proponent of Bitcoin Cash BCH and for good reason. It is fast, cheap and very reliable as it is uncongested by design just like Bitcoin BTC used to be. Where I am in North Queensland, we have many merchants that accept Bitcoin-Cash-only and are now seeing Bitcoin-Cash-only ATMs as bricks-and-mortar merchant adoption grows.

The core trolls are right to fear BCH, it is eating their merchant lunch and enjoys the high moral ground of being true to the Bitcoin whitepaper.

While free speech means we must put up with the maggot trolls, our community is bound by vision and generosity rather than needing to be propped up with censorship and deceit.

Holy shit, he did the EXACT SAME THING TO ME. TWICE (excuse the tag):

I'm an idiot, I didn't even realize it wasn't him responding. I just didn't read the username because it was responding as if it was BashCo. What a pathetic POS, really living up to his reputation.

Bitcoin Core (BTC) is not designed for electronic commerce. That would be Bitcoin Cash BCH.

That's misleading. Of course, there are still some who use it, obviously Blockstream.

Bitcoin Core BTC is a scam because blockstream/core changed the vision of Bitcoin but didn't have the integrity to choose a new name for their project. Today they fraudulently trade on the bitcoin brand despite BTC no longer being electronic cash.

ed: grammar

This app seems neat but redundant. Last I checked, Bitcoin Core (BTC) had been converted into a settlement token, so why would you need an app to find locations where you can spend BTC? What merchant would be silly enough to still accept BTC when they must make their customers wait for a confirmation with every sale?

Unless this app is so you can track the dwindling BTC holdouts-in-denial around you?

It is bcash 0 conf right?

  • can it execute 1,000,000 transactions per hour today? LightningNetwork can.

  • can it execute 100,000,000 transactions per hour when LN will have x100 more users, so probably in a year or few? LN can. BCH could with 1 gigabyte blocks or something. Meaning hardly anyone would validate the chain, apart from Jihan and his miners (so just few entities in the world: the pool operators, hardly anyone solomone)

  • is it so secure that you need to pay 6 x 12.5 x 6000 usd = 450,000 usd to steal back the amount? Or what is the cost? On bcash that cost is 1 x 12.5 x 6000 x 0.095 if you wait around 5 minutes, and 0 usd if you use this method in video with 0 conf.

You are a scammer, be gone!

Many thanks. I will spend it forward.

Ho-k. What else gets censored? If “nothing” was being censored and people are saying it “is” being might clutter up a page. Make crypto people seem like loonies. I mean, conspiracy talk, vague as you said you didn’t even opt to use the words you are now, can be pretty toxic. But what else gets censored in r/bitcoin ?

Fine. Let's say rbitcoin doesn't indulge in censorship/corruption. Then simply open the moderation logs so I can judge for myself.

Robert Kiyosaki is a little behind the times. Bitcoin Core (BTC) is no longer "People's Money", that would be Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

One is a failing settlement system for a failing L2 system while the other is p2p electronic cash!

LOL his mum must have kicked him out of the basement.

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) taking off in North Queensland!

5 points · 19 days ago

Whats the deal with North Queensland? Who is pushing BCH over there?

Original Poster7 points · 19 days ago

People in North Queensland think Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is fast, cheap and reliable, like back when Bitcoin (BTC) was still electronic cash.

Adoption is funny. Takes a long time for the first merchant to adopt but by the 10th it is much quicker. The 50th is fast and beyond that merchants readily accept it and are joining all over the place.

A Peer-to-Peer electronic cash system makes sense for a tourist centre like North Queensland and with each new merchant more resources become available to promote Bitcoin Cash.

I'm sure it is the same where you are from.
