SHS will be scolding the media for spreading fake news about this.

...while carrying a box of stuff to her car.

Reporters: Sarah why are you leaving? Is that a box full of your stuff? What will...

SHS: I'll have to direct you to the office of SHS to answer those questions

765 points · 11 days agoGilded1 · edited 11 days ago

Media: ..but you're Sarah Sanders?? So are saying we need to ask you or your office....or what exactly are you saying?

Sanders: look there's a process in place and I haven't had an opportunity to discuss anything currently on that front

Media: So are you leaving?

Sanders: (condescending) I have already answered the question three times already.

Media: ...and the answer then is what exactly?

Sanders: I know you don't like discussing what America wants to hear about, about the excellent economy, and record job growth, how our president is finally leveling the playing field in unfair trade agreements that have gone on for years, about the successful denuclearization of the Korean peninsula because you'd rather attack the president with false stories of palace intrigue. Look I have been absolutely forthcoming with the best information at my disposal in order to 100 percent answer your question but you'd rather just further sully your reputation with the American public who quite honestly have lost their trust in you as you have so clearly demonstrated how often you are willing to get a story wrong and not report the truth when it doesn't fit with your agenda. The previous responses have made my position totally clear.

Media: So you're not leaving then...?

Sanders: Again I'll have to direct you to the office of SHS in order to further assist you with that question. And because we are pressed for time I won't be answering any more questions folks. I will read for you a letter written by a seven year old from Oklahoma who goes by the name "Hot Dog" who writes the president asking him to end the unfair sanctions placed on our ally Russia so that one day his momma can adopt a needy orphan from that region.

damn i’d give you an emmy for that

-Said SHS from behind a desk plant being carried in a cardboard box full of her office belongings and a letter of resignation stapled to the front of the box with a post it note stuck to it reading, "Don't forget to submit this (and then lie about it)!!!"

She'll immediately have a job at Fox.

Oh yeah, that was a given from day one. Media grifting is the family business.

And killing dogs.

Why have I seen several posts about her killing dogs?

Btw it's not that I don't want to google it, it's just that I also don't want to see 'sarah sanders dog killer' in my google suggestions.

Her brother allegedly tortured and killed a stray dog in 1998.

Doubtful, she's not skinny or blonde enough to land a role on Fox.

They don't have to give her her own show. They can just trot her out for 30-second interviews as some sort of "expert" to "analyze" whatever bullshit Fox has cooked up that day.

Not a good fit. She certainly enjoys an argument (as long as she controls the podium) and she has the requisite traits of ability to lie and disregard for consistency. But I've yet to see that she enjoys creating or driving a narrative - I think that she just follows orders.

Also, Fox appears to have certain... requirements.

Fox appears to employ primarily one shape-shifting blonde.

Does @CBSNews know something I don’t about my plans and my future? I was at my daughter’s year-end Kindergarten event and they ran a story about my “plans to leave the WH” without even talking to me. There’s a pattern with the White House’s bullshit on people leaving. News breaks that it’s coming up, the administration gets pissed and deny it, then they delay it a few weeks to make it seem like they decided later.

Sounds about right. Deny, deflect, let the chatter die down, do it anyway. That's how news trickles out of the Trump whitehosue. Remember this one?

Media: Secretary Tillerson, are the rumors true that you're leaving?

Rex: There's no plans at this time.

Trump: Rex is a great guy.

SHS: Fake News.

(Bikini Bottom Background) 1 Month Later: Rex Tillerson resigns fired as Secreatary of State.

Note there is no denial.

If only there was a pattern of sources inside the whitehouse giving a headsup about an upcoming departure, the admin calling it fake news, and then it turning out to be true!

I posted the same above. You can always spot a deceptive statement this way. If she truly was not going to leave her job, then she would have said so. She cannot bring herself to say it, so we cannot say it for her.

28 points · 11 days ago · edited 11 days ago

I like how she mentioned what she happened to be doing. Was CBS supposed to stalk her and break the news at a more appropriate time?

Yeah...and she is also doing the "I'm a good mom!" thing in order to somehow make herself seem more credible.

I have a hard time being dispassionately objective about SHS in her role. I get the Press Secretary's job, I watched a lot of people do it over the years. Nobody had clean hands spinning any administration's talking points and answers about other talking points... but, I haven't ever seen anyone as massively, as consistently, and as brazenly smooth, glide, deflect, attack, and cover-up for a President's words and actions as frequently and as starkly opposed to clear obvious truth.

I hope, genuinely, she's ashamed of herself. I hope she resigns out of that shame. I hope she becomes the low water mark and cautionary tale for the job for decades that she has to live down. I hope "I was just following orders" proves to be a failure of an excuse the day after she leaves and decades to come.

314 points · 11 days ago

Her father uses peoples' faith to manipulate them into a political direction, and her brother probably tortured and murdered a stray dog.

I don't think self reflection or shame run in the family.

Thank you! I just wanna shake these liberals who assume that the people working in the White House are just “doing their jobs” and are holding onto hope that they can avert disaster.

These. People. Do. Not. Care. Scott Pruitt does not care that you think he’s blowing our money on stupid shit for himself. “You found out about it? Good, now I don’t have to hide my yacht.” This is 80’s cocaine Wall Street brokers run amok, serving in high ranking positions in the US government and grifting while they can.

SHS believes the shit she spouts. She doesn’t care if you think she’s a liar... liars sell books and win presidencies. Do not feel sorry for anyone working in the WH, save for the service staff. Anyone with a shred of dignity left ages ago.

California
77 points · 11 days ago

Exactly, this isn't normal. These people don't give a shit about what the public thinks of them, they're shamelessly stealing as much as they can from us taxpayers and they laugh at us while doing so. "Just doing their job" isn't an excuse for this, we shouldn't tolerate any more of this.

"Nobody wants to come in," a source close to the administration said. "So they've gone through two rounds and now they're at third tier of people who are just lucking out -- battlefield promotion ends up promoting people who aren't qualified for the position."

"The best people"

Less than halfway through Mr. Trump's term, the turnover rate stands at 51 percent, according to the Brookings Institution. Turnover during Mr. Trump's first year in office was 34 percent -- nearly four times higher than turnover during the first year of the Obama administration.

463 points · 11 days ago

Well, he does have this compulsion to out do Obama in everything.

Ohio

That was fucking brutal. Anybody can remain professional in their job even when things are tough, but when a little kid your child's age asks you a question about being murdered in their classroom and the mental health surrounding those facts, the only way you could be unaffected is if you are a fucking soul-less piece of shit.

Exactly. Tf does a kindergarten event have to do with anything? Spare us the “as a mother” angle, Sarah, you’re a federal official.

never mind that it's in the article, "neither Sanders nor Shah immediately responded to repeated requests for comment."

they're literally saying, "we asked her about it and she didn't respond". instead she thought it best to take to twitter

Right after the Republicans may well have lost the house and/or senate. A good time to get the hell off that sinking ship.

They only lose if we actually get out and vote. Le'ts not take it for granted and think they've lost already.

Adios, Smokey Lies!

How dare you insult her god awful looks!

-Republicans trying to protect SHS from a comedian

Because comparing a woman's lies with her makeup choice is the same as commenting on her looks!!!

This is a great day, because there's so much shitty news for Trump.

Let's see how long she actually stays. trump has a history of forcing people out once they are no longer totally loyal to him, and especially once they've given notice.

I fucking hope so. I can't stand that smug grin as she purposely lies to her country and the world.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders can go fuck herself.

While looking at the country with one eye and the world with the other.

Good riddance! Don't let the door hit you on the way out, guys!

He's totally going to replace her with Sean Hannity, isn't here? There's no way we're going to get through this presidency without Press Secretary Sean Hannity, are we?

Shouty Spice would be interesting character to bring back this season.

I called it after the White House Correspondents Association dinner. You could see the cracks starting to form in her composure even then. Now she's trying for a graceful exit that she doesn't deserve before all shitting hell breaks loose and she shouldn't be allowed to have that. Her lies have done too much damage.

maybe we can crowd fund a campaign to make sure every one of her neighbors dogs poops on her lawn in perpituity

just make sure Huckabees don't end up killing the dogs, they have a history

I think it was the kid who asked about school shootings. Somehow he got through to her.

I think that was crack # 2 though... check out her sad resigned nod at the WHCA dinner when Michelle Wolf cracked that "maybe it's lies" joke. Sanders caught herself after a split second, but it was unusual, compared to her normal stoic facade.

GOOD.

These two NEVER get a "Mea culpa" tour and forgiveness, their lies and disrespect for a free press need to follow them for the rest of their lives. EVERY interview, EVERY book tour, EVERY appearance has to start with "So, how did you live with yourself lying to the American public every day? What part do you think you played in the deterioration of democratic norms?"

Screw both of them. (They're going to land comfortably at FOX News)

I wouldn't be surprised if they're both on Mueller's "let's have a chat" list.

I can't help but remember some story about people in the admin spreading fake news to white house staffers to identify a leaker. BOTH are planning on leaving at the same time? This story stinks to me, it's too bold.

CBS is reporting multiple sources and friends of Sarah and Raj, so they've already verified it isn't just one leaky fake source.

Bets on the next person being that chick from Fox News that Trump Jr. is banging?

California

I will not take that bet. Because you are probably right.

The idea of Trump Jr banging people then offering them jobs. It's so icky

The storyline of this show is so outlandish and has jumped the shark so many times that I'm honestly expecting that to happen.

Keep in mind: it's not outside the realm of possibility for SHS to leak a false story, just to then scream "fake news!" The base will eat it up and we'll have to deal with the smug look on her face.
